Doesn't he play as a second striker for Fiorentina? He certainly appears to have the quality to adapt to the main striker role.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8594270/? The player himself has given a pretty generic response to all the rumours. But if we are indeed in competition with Man City for Jovetic, then we might as well forget it.
He's more of a second striker from all the articles I've read though Fiorentina do play him on the left quite often though the player himself has stated (contrary to popular belief) that he does NOT enjoy playing striker as he does not really see enough of the ball. I won't pretend to have seen him but I've seen him live but I've seen match compilations recently and he really seems to have improved massively over time with his performance against milan particularly good. Strengths seem to be great ball retention and vision not a bad first touch too. However he does lack pace to an extent and not really a dribbler. Best position in our would probably be left wing or attacking midfield. See,s humble enough and was impressed by the fact hat he turned down Madrid in favour of Fiorentina as he felt it would be best for his development. He's not as frail as some people think too and stands over 6ft if I'm not mistaken.
Jovetic is quality. The high price tag is because he has all the technical and physical ingredients to be a World beater.(doesn't necessarily mean he will become one however - but still he would undoubtedly improve our squad) Also he's a very different kind of forward to Giroud so I think he would be a great signing.
Dennis Bergkamp's scoring rate for Arsenal was less than 1 goal every 3 games and that didn't stop him being one of the greatest players ever to wear an Arsenal shirt
According to his agent http://metro.co.uk/2013/03/28/steva...reed-to-join-arsenal-says-fifa-agent-3563763/
To be fair Bergkamp did so much more than just score goals, he was as much a provider as a goal-scorer. Having said that, I think Jovetic looks like a lethal striker and currently stands at 6th in the Italian top scorers table. He looks like more of a goal-machine than Giroud.
I was listening to the radio the other day and the reporter was saying that Jovetic does a lot more than just score goals. That was the point i was trying to make to Kyle
Jovetic has 12 goals in 24 games (all starts), Giroud has 9 in 28 (19 starts, 9 from the bench) in the league. Not to mention this is Giroud's first season at Arsenal. We're going to be spending £30m on someone who has a marginally better goal record than Giroud
We are finally linked with someone other than Jovetic. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...0million-rated-Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang.html
Great, so expect us to sign him then. Sod it, i'm not convinced by him, but we may as well sign Jovetic.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-transfer-news-gunners-plan-1794169 Finally a rumour i like. Lewandowski won't happen though, he's going to bayern Gotze is way, way, way too good for us Bender is realistic, Excellent DM who can cover at RB too. Would prefer Sven to Lars though, i personally feel Sven is better.
