http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-whites-news/leeds_united_my_whites_memory_match_swan_interview_1_3404442 How much does this man make from journalism. Radio Humberside, Daily Mail, Evening Post!!! He is not even very good. 'It was fantastic for me and my family, who were all Leeds fans and still are now.' 'There’s nothing better than playing for your hometown club.Especially one like Leeds United – which is massive as well.'
He's being interviewed there mate! And anyway, I guess there are few things better than playing for your hometown club for most 'decent' footballers
"The 44-year-old, now a media pundit covering the fortunes of Hull City, where he holds cult hero status among Tigers supporters," Is this a joke? Does anyone like the white ****e supporter?
Im not a big fan of Stuart Elliott,i mean what else does he give us except goals ? GENUINE PETER SWAN QUOUTE ! from the hdm.
The mans an idiot, I read his book (read a lot of sports books) , on the back page its says: 'Swanny, if you'd got your head together instead of going out drinking you could have gone all the way. You could have played for England.' Thats from his old Port Vale manager, but why put that on the back page of your book, even worse than that under it is a photo of him with Robbie Williams, as if thats more relevant than his football career.
testimony to what is required to be a journo.......... Jimmy Greaves...David Burns BA (Hons)....i rest my case
I guess the obvious response to that would be that jokes are funny. Unless, of course, he's an unfunny, confused and contrived joke like "why did the Chicken cross the road..." Edit: I've just realised that 'unfunny, confused and contrived' perfectly describes the man. Maybe you and I are right...
Everywhere you look in the Yorkshire Post sports section it's Leeds, Leeds, Leeds, the're such a big bloody club that others don't exist.. why don't they call it the Leeds Post then?
I don't know, there is a lot, but I think this year it's been more down to the fact they've been the best team. We had considerable coverage over our two Premiership years, plus you have to remember that they've got by far the biggest fanbase in the county. At the end of the day, they've got to shift papers to make money, and they're targeting the largest demographic. It's funny actually, talking of Leeds coverage, as a lad I know is a Leeds fan and he always tries to take the piss, but picks stuff that just results in him getting egg on his face. For the last 6 months his comment of choice has been 'Why do Yorkshire Radio only broadcast Leeds games? Why not Hull'? I think I'll give him a few more months and then I'll remind him that Yorkshire Radio is owned by Leeds United AFC.
Swanny is a knob its one of the reasons i dont like listening to humberside.I have lost count of the times burnsy has asked him for his take of an incident only to be told not watching burnsy.or didnt see it or sorry mate just looking at something else.I also remember him saying live on humberside that if he was not a reporter for humberside he would never pay to watch hull city.Burnsy **** himself.Yet the fat **** still here
The Yorkshire Post is based in Leeds and writes more about Leeds than any other club, but the articles they do write about us are far better than anything that appears in the HDM.
The YP is effectively the sister morning paper to the Evening Post - Leeds' local rag and the equivalent to the HDM. The articles they write about City in the YP are generally very good - we are well down the pecking order though in terms of their coverage of other clubs in Yorkshire particularly wessie ones.
Like any 'Professional' journo, he does his research before he speaks. No opinions, jjust facts based on effective research. Or is that me telling granny to suck!
Other way round. YEP is the tabloid, Leeds-oriented sister paper of the YP which I find pretty balanced. Like WRT says, you're bound to get more coverage for the most popular club, at least they don't do pointless 'give the reader their fix' articles like the YEP do which are basically C&P'd from the LUFC website.
It was quite amusing when someone asked him why he's so keen to criticise the manager (think it was Taylor at the time) as though he was a proven expert on the subject when he's never done the job and his response was that he'd never been offered a manager's job because he was still too young. It was just a shame there was nobody there to point out that there were about 15 managers in the Football League younger than him.
