To be fair JWAG, all manager's comments annoy me, even Pardew's. It's like they're all given the same tired script on becoming a premier league manager. They have eagle-vision when it comes to decisions against them, and make sure they've seen a replay of the incident 1,000,998 times so they can complain to the media, yet plead ignorance regarding anything their own team get away with, and suddenly the TV in their dressing room doesn't work!

I wish somebody would show them play-back of the times they talk about "getting the luck" in games after they've just had a dodgy ref against them, it would be interesting to see their response...

It disappointed me that Roberto wasn't more empathetic, and the fact he was so willing to big the lad up (even though he actually had a poor game. Though his running was good, he wasted chances and his tackling was a bit off <whistle>), but I wasn't truly expecting it. The biggest failure for Wigan Atheletic was that any sort of decent human being would have made a gesture at the time, not be forced into a useless PR apology. No sign of remorse was there? And the idea of him looking "shook-up" is a clear fabrication derived on previous incidents with completely different players at completely different clubs.

Callum McManaman has a dedicated twitter page (with 3 tweets... If that's really him, he's clearly almost as good at stringing 140 characters together as challenging for the ball), and one of the tweets seemingly advocates two-footed challenges. I hope that's not an authentic account.

Can't really blame Wigan fans for one lad being an absolute dirty bastardo. Clear intent and I hope he gets snapped, I mean banned :D

I think though if you do that to a player you call attention on immediately, when you know you've done him proper and hurt him, McManaman just plays on as if nothing happened so because of that I really hope he gets a taste of his own medicine before the season ends

You seemingly missed the 1 line comment that I posted with that picture, you patronising gimp.

As the only reason I passed comment was the jibe at the Wigan fans applauding the lad when he was substituted. You lot moaned a bucketful about the sending off of Nolan during the game I highlighted, as no doubt they didn't realise the horror of the challenge while the game was still in progress either.

It goes without saying that the challenge by Mcmanaman was a shocker, it was an awful challenge & he'll rightly get banned for it.

Thanks for the neg anyway petal, another who totally abuses the system I see, never mind....

Of course I saw the comment you son of a silly person, I'm not Mark Halsey <ok>

It amazes me an Evertonian can make such holier than thou judgements in light of having one of the dirtiest players in the league (albeit with the finest afro I've ever seen) on your books. You're just adding to the "your team did that, your team did this" nonsense that comprises the majority of trolling reactions, and derailing debate, hence the negative rep.

So dry your flipping eyes. It's just rep you wuss <ok>

While I may not agree with Whelan I think he is entitled to his point of view, having experienced the situation himself. I also am certain the referee did not see it and was honest enough to admit it.

What I don't like about the whole saga, apart from the appalling injury, is that once the media start one of these bandwagons branding someone or a club a disgrace, as it is apparently unacceptable to contradict their view and let's be honest it would be pretty boring if everyone agreed and had the same opinion about everything.

Take last week, my club Southampton were branded a 'disgrace' on match of the day for surrounding the referee after a very dubious last minute penalty decision. Yet no one complained with the way the Man U players greeted the Turkish referee after their Champions League defeat. Newcastle, I am sure, feel aggrieved but I get bored of the banal media black and white syndrome.

Wigan won't come out of this with any credibility at all thanks mostly to Dave Whelan's absurd statements. He's in total denial.

I don't think we should call the ordinary and honest Wigan fans, who were probably too far away and had just a moment to see the thug's tackle.

And the respected Martinez, to label McManenem an innocent little lamb, when he's got previous in the horror tackles dept is a bit sad really.

Not bothered about the points - this has left a bloody sour taste in my mouth, the tackle and the aftermath of vitreole.

I'll be surprised if this doesn't affect the next time Wigan come to St James Park.

I wasn't being holier than thou, I was was pointing out that Geordies taking that standpoint was hypocritical, you geek.

Only rep? indeed, but given that your total indicates that you're one of the sad rep whoring ******s on this site, then maybe you ought to tell yourself that, you sad ****.

EDIT: You'd better get onto the Mirror & tell them that they're 'trolling' by mentioning Anichebe btw, you pompous prick

Oh dear oh dear, how old are you?

The only point of your post was to cause offence and not contribute anything about the tackle at all. It's "hypocritical" of you to barge in holier than thou with som of the players in your team, as it would be of anybody else using the same tired "you did this" nonsense. How does that actually have any bearing on the poor lad, who has been playing well and showing promise, getting destroyed by a very late and stupid challenge? The lad is not "dirty" by association (just like all Wigan players or fans are not dirty by association) just because Nolan et al have put on the same coloured shirt in the past <doh>

I care not for rep. Those that do are in the 100,000s by now. I'm just in the positive because I don't go round shouting the odds and using swearwords every 3 seconds when somebody has a bit of debate with me. You clearly deserve positive rep <doh>

    "I care not for rep"

    :emoticon-0112-wonde

Combined with a Gandalf screen name.......

& you ask how old I am?

    <laugh>

You've still missed my entire point btw you docile ****wit.
One of your posters criticised the Wigan supporters for their reaction to their player, I merely pointed out, that said reaction happens during the game - it's only afterwards that fans inside the ground have the benefit of seeing the replays & understanding the horror of the challenge.

In fact because the player wasn't booked or even a freekick awarded, then the Wigan fans probably thought it was an accident, so had no reason to vilify their player. Unlike the incident that I highlighted as my comparison, were Nolan was sent straight off, but the fans booed the decision......

<laugh> The irony of username-calling from a chap who titles himself "big bird"...

So what? I'd already made that point several posts prior to your participation. There was absolutely no need to wade in with it in that manner, in my opinion. You've just come across as a bitter Evertonian just trying to stir the pot, rather than make any sort of sensible contribution. The fact that all the internet trolls of the universe have used the exact same tired tact is also against you.

And considering your bloody over-reaction to a bit of negative rep, it hardly lends weight to a level-headed, reasonable sort trying to contribute anything worthwhile. If that seriously makes much difference to your life, I humbly apologise <laugh>

    P.s
You'll note Kevin Nolan apologised to Anichebe and Moyes after the game. CM hasn't, and that's very disappointing, even if it is a pathetic token gesture when a player is lying their with a shattered leg.
