Saints are working on signing Boruc up. Talks opened. Pochettino says "I'll be really pleased if he stays here". I think it's likely to be more to do with Boruc waiting to see than anything...

I may be wrong but Artur doesn't look like the player who is encumbered too much by loyalty. There's nothing wrong with that attitude, so show him enough shiny clinking stuff, and he'll readily put pen to paper. I don't think anything else will suffice. Saints may have a tiny advantage in that a significant minority of the local population is Polish. But I reckon that would only count if the money was no better elsewhere. I could be wrong. In fact, I hope so because I personally prefer some loyalty to no loyalty, in a person.
Even if Boruc doesn't stay here, it's a bit harsh to accuse him of disloyalty. He was brought in to do his best for us until the end of the season, but he doesn't owe us more than that. Hope he signs though.
I'd be surprised if he signed a contract before he knows if we we're going to be in the PL next season. This is probably a bit of PR to put pressure on him.
No, I'm not accusing him of disloyalty. To suggest that would mean he has actively been and showed disloyalty. I was suggesting that when it comes to putting his future on the line, I believe money will play a greater part in how he decides, over how the last few months have gone, and which has got his career back in gear. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that attitude and I wouldn't accuse him of being disloyal if he chose to go elsewhere. However, laurab12 suggests I might be wrong, so here's hoping so, because he's a damn good keeper, coming into some fine form.
I wouldn't blame him for leaving just because of how the fans treated him initially (sarcastic cheers etc) but I'd be gutted if he did leave because he's a quality keeper and it basically puts us in the exact same situation that we were in last summer.
If he leaves then there'll be even more keeper rotation! Gazzaniga isn't good enough yet and needs to be loaned out and Davis isn't good enough for a first team spot.
I think there will be caution in signing up till your epl status is secure or he has get out clause put in if your relegated. He's always been upfront that the epl is where he wants to play
I think he`ll be the difference between us staying up or not - I don`t think we would if we only had SKD and Gazza to pick from.
Any news on the holy goalie's state of health and wellbeing? Back in training apparently, but I think we need him 'twixt the sticks tomorrow. I suggest we all pop into a church and light a candle for the boy.
