    Bugger off Siam!! :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0105-wink:

What goes round comes around - never a truer word was spoken.

When we were having a sticky time this past month, a lot of rival fans on all the boards filled their boots. It's only forum banter - each and everyone gets their turn (unless your Bristol City <laugh>). At the moment it's ours, and you can't blame supporters for enjoying the moment.

The one thing I will say without being too cosy is that this Watford crowd are generally amongst the best on the boards. I've got no problems with them like some of the vindictive ones elsewhere, and I'm sure most take it in good part.

I agree there is nothing decided yet, but it don't 'arf feel bloody good at the minute. <ok>

I think you can tell more about fans by the nature of their behaviour after a victory than after a defeat. I wonder how many of our fans went to Cardiff's forum to gloat about our recent run and their mini-slump - very few I suspect. Yet here come a number of their fans just to gloat and rub salt in our wounds. Nice.

We only ever had a remote chance of catching Cardiff - we were 5 points and a game in hand behind so everything had to go our way to even make it close - I doubt in our hearts any of us really thought we would make up much ground so late unless Cardiff imploded. Our battle is with ourselves - not even with Hull and Palace. We are a new side with an inexperienced manager who have out-performed our expectations this year and allowed us to dream. As H says six months ago we would have laughed if you had told us we would be in with a shout of automatic promotion this year - we were hoping for a crack at scraping into the play offs. Two matches ago I would have said that that was now a certainty. Now I am not so sure - the leading teams are being caught by the likes of Forest and cannot afford four points from four games to continue as a trend.

Well enjoy your laugh Cardiff fans - you will know haw much fun it is from your own experiences for the last two years

Come on Leonardo - get off that bloody pedestal before you fall off. You're starting to sound a tad bitter.

This is just forum rhetoric - nothing more. Some like to give it large with viscious language and behaviour in general, whilst the very vast majority of Cardiff posters on the forum are only up for a laugh.

Yes, we know all about the "bottling" jibes thank you very much - we've been the brunt of them these past few years, and had to either laugh them off with some comebacks or take the manic depressive route.

Agreed, you've done very well to get where you are right now, it's just that we've done better.

Despite yesterday's results, the moods on theses boards can all change within a couple of games, and it sure ain't over yet. <ok>

Leonardo, that's true, I don't recall any of your lot coming to our board to gloat, but this is an open forum and we tend to read what's being said by other fans, and there have been comments made, on this board, of hopes and expectations that we will/would fail.
I think some of us viewed that as unnecessary, hence the OP!
True, you stay on your boards and say these things, much the same as the Hull fans have, but just because those who have said such things didn't post on our board doesn't lessen the fact that things were said, and some umbrage is taken.
That said, I doubt we would have bothered much with this thread if it wasn't for some of the bites it received.

No doubt we will hear how we are "bottling" it or we are "imploding" again when we next lose, but guess what, so will you and Hull and we make no excuses for doing it.

Yorkshire - Ogmore and the river mouth was my old stamping ground as well mate, born and bred 6 miles inland in Bridgend.

Been around a bit with work for the last 30 years but now live just down the coast on the genteel Pothcawl Riviera.

The closest thing we get to a riot around here is when the Post Office is late opening on pension day..........<laugh>

(not that I go there yet - I'm only 55 and enjoying the moment)

Of course Cardiff fans can come on here with their banter - it's part of the fun of the game. As is the speculation of every fan of every club over the 'what if's...' and 'could we's....' - there's nothing wrong with it and it would be downright unnatural for it not to happen.

At least we are spared the visits from the scumbags who all appear to support teams starting with 'L', whose idea of banter is straight out vile abuse that requires the swear filter.

Afraid we have a lot more work to do than you - yesterday's results mean you could go on relegation form of a point a game and still get automatic promotion. We have to recapture our pre "manager of the month award" form

Pedestal - I think not - you visit another forum and don't expect a response? Naive.
Bitter - about what - doing so much better this year than we ever expected?
You Cardiff fans are much more polite though than most who go for a wind up I do admit. However I find it strange that for fans who "know all about bottling jibes" you do the same as soon as you get the chance - the day after our second defeat in a row when automatic promotion is slipping away is not a day when I feel like having a laugh - or appreciate you rubbing salt in. Not manic depressive but thoroughly fed up. Sad when people don't celebrate their own victories but get greater enjoyment in others' misfortune

The point is SBFF that we keep our comments amongst ourselves - what fans are not happy when their rivals slip up - the difference is between going out and having a drink to celebrate with mates or going to find someone to rub their noses in the dirt. I have not visited the Hull forum but don't doubt that the same muppets have visited there to gloat at them too.

You guys have never visited here to congratulate a club that was slipping into administration on not only avoiding that but then turning their fortunes around sufficiently to have a real stab at promotion. Forgive me if that colours my view of your supporters.

Banter is healthy as long as it is kept to reasonable proportions.

Let's be honest, we'd love to be in Cardiff's position at the moment, likewise Brighton, Forest and a host of others would love to be where we are. We should be grateful for where we are and focus on getting the job done. For me I think Cardiff have done enough now to secure one of the automatic spots, probably four more wins will seal the deal - we need I think at least six wins, but it is in our own hands if Palace don't win today, as long as we can beat Hull.

Plenty of twists and turns to come - Hopefully by the time we play Cardiff both teams will be in the automatic spots and will put on a good show for the cameras.

    Keep the faith COYH.

All true Sparky, but until we are mathematically safe, I feel like we are tempting fate with this kind of banter :)

Siam - tempting fate is very, very dangerous, but Masked Man is a known tosser with these sort of threads - he's even admitted it to me.....<laugh>

Leo - compared to the Watford trolls that kept visiting our board telling us how Malky was a right bastard leaving you taking his staff and Don Cowie (who scored yesterday), and he always imploded in the second half of the season, AND they can't wait for him to do the same with us, you come across as very reasonable.

As for colouring all Cardiff supporters with the same brush - isn't that what your doing on the basis of this one obvious windup thread?

We can understand the sadness that you feel when your team has just lost two games that in all honesty they should have walked, but come on fella - don't let it taint your world on here. <ok>

Sparkey - tell me the day after two defeats in a row - oh sorry I don't think you have suffered that this season - you would not be suffering a humour bypass too

I was amongst those who felt Malky was a right bastard too - not because he left us but because of how and when but that is ancient history now and I doubt anyone has the appetite to dredge those debates up again

What I can't stand is opposition fans coming on here with well-thought out, conciliatory, intelligent remarks. It just pisses me off. I'd much rather they spouted ranting, biased, illiterate rubbish that we can have a go back at.

    Shame......

I'm sorry to disagree Leo, but if we were 9 points behind you instead of 9 in front of you, you can bet your bottom dollar that some of your more aggressive posters would have "dredged those debates up again" bloody big time mate.

The fact that they are quiet about it has more to do with the facts of our respective table positions than it has to do with "ancient history".

If it stayed like that (make that 3-0), it would suit the top 3 very nicely thank you very much.

A plus factor would be to hear Holloway's comments after the game.

Seems we will not agree on anything Sparkey. The fact that you are ahead of us makes it more likely we would feel anger and hurt - if we were 9 points ahead of you we would just be happy.

We have had two good managers since MM left and in that time I think most of us have downgraded what we thought of MM. At Cardiff he had everything built for him and has multi millionaires backing him and even so with 8 games to go there was debate before yesterday as to whether he would bottle it again. Would we ever want him as our manager again - definitely not. My bet is he will not even be your manager this time next year - let's re-visit that then to see who owes whom a pint.
He should not have signed a new contract in March if he did not like the owner and was prepared to leave two months later and he went over the top in poaching old players - all managers do it but none of them are liked for it. As I said though these are old sterile debates - I am glad you have him and we have Zola - try to find one Watford fan who disagrees - so that is why we will not dredge it up again -ssems more like you guys feel more tender about it than we do now

Yes, but you haven't just got Zola have you? You've got The Pozzo lot, their money and their football resources in foreign leagues.

Nothing wrong with that in my book, but don't try to kid yourself, let alone me, that you'd be anywhere near the top without them.

As for your comment on the Malky or Zola thing - I wouldn't have expected anything else from a Watford supporter.
