Friendlies are arranged in exactly the same manner as any other match. They take months of planning, starting with invitations and acceptances by the interested parties. Then dates and times have to be agreed between both clubs, local authorities and police/medical services have to be notified in advance for crowd control measures to be implemented. Officials have to be appointed and accommodation booked, as well as travel arrangements made for the team and support staff. Of course, all of this has to be paid for as well.....
