The point about the sea of cash floating our way if we stay up allowing us to compete more evenly is an interesting one - it will allow us to spend at a higher level but where do we think those "difference makers" are going to come from and why would they choose to come to Norwich instead of Stoke, Fulham, West Brom, West Ham, Sunderland, etc.
We all know Norfolk is a wonderful county with much to offer but it won't suit everyone (look at James Vaughan for example) and so foreign players in particular may choose a club centred near a big city, with all the trappings that this offers, ahead of coming to Norwich.
Yes, our facilities are good and the set-up of the club is good but our currrent playing style is hardly likely to endear an agent of say Van Wolfswinkle or Hooper to say "you gotta go to Norwich, they play wonderful football and the club is great" - our style of football currently won't "sell" the club to a possible star like Wolfy when other clubs in similar situations, playing similar styles of football (ie, Stoke), offering similar wages and in more "attractive" (if you like the lure of the big city which many players do) locations will be also vying for your signature.
The flood of notes that will hit the accounts come May if we are still in the PL should attract a better class of player but I think we'll need to unearth some hidden gems such as Kei as some of the more attractive options may not always see Norwich as their first choice of go-to club.
