Lol. It must have been your brother then. Struggled with consonants...? Yup - thought so. Warmed up now - in body and particularly in spirit that the majority of the good people on this board and there today agreed with me. And by the way, I do sing a bit, just not all the time. Not sure about women singing at matches. Our voices aren't right and if we try and make them right for a football chant, then we sound stoopid and not at all like a laydee. But If you're next to me when we score, then you'll hear me!

Who the bloody hell are you to tell `someone they must shout or sing at games. Not all sing and shout, this is a free bloody country last time I looked. Some of us cannot sing through a variety of reasons so are you saying because we don't sing we are not supporters?????
If they don't attend matches they are called plastics....if they do but don't sing they are not wanted? Give me bloody strength!!!!

Ziggy........You carry on doing what you want to do, sing or not sing shout or not shout. Just keep coming to the matches.......You are paying the full rate for your ticket, I wonder if Andre Young is probably not judging by his childish comments.
Trouble is we can't pick and choose who wants to be a fan we have to put up with what we get......

I think you've misunderstood my point of view here. The thing is, I don't understand why you would want to go to a stadium and not sing and chant for the entire game or most of it, if you don't then maybe it would be best if you were at home watching on the PC or TV. Of course people can go to the games as they please and not say a word during the 90+mins, but that's a shame in my opinion anyway. It's a free country and so it should be, I'm not trying to tell people what they should do.

Except that's precisely what you were doing in your post. Off you go now Banana. I would far rather have supporters like Ziggy at the club than provocative twits like yourself.

Andre........For someone who is supposedly new to this board those are very strong and negative postings. Most new posters find their way around a bit and are not so controversial in ther early postings perhaps it is this that gives you away!l

I seem to recall that the fascists felt that their way was the only correct way.

Saints fans were awesome today. Were they all singing for 90 minutes? why pick on one person? rhetorical I know cos he's gawn

As for me 93 minutes of biting my nails and then 10 minutes running round the living room with my 8 year old on my shoulders singing OWTS. Had to tell him I shouted 'Flipping get in there' and he had misheard me lol.

Missus went crazy but was ignored. lol Broke the lampshade when I punched the air.

Keep goin Ziggy. supporting is supporting however you choose to do it.

Have the greatest admiration for fans who go to away matches to support the team. Also glad that a lot sing and make a noise because the team appreciate it, but I am not one of them (though my odd rendition is no doubt much appreciated by my neighbours). No need for aggression between supporters...ignore it, Ziggy...must have been very unpleasant at the time.

I go to a game to watch a game of football, if I could sing, which I regret to say I cannot, (I do hum a little but that is another story), and if I wanted to, I would join a choir. I support my team by wearing the colours, by shouting encouragement, never booing no matter how dire, I pay my money I do it my way and no OCD nitwit is going to tell me how I go about it. If you don't like it, frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. You sing and make up for me there is a good chap.

Good post Ziggy. Now i love to have a sing song at games, but sometimes I don't and Norwich was such a game. I just enjoyed the watching.

Where I was stood, I watched a small group of fairly "mean" looking fellas spend most the game looking into the Norwich away end, pointing and nodding. I also had a young family behind me where the boys kept talking about the Norwich away fans and the Dad was even pointing and gesticulating at the Norwich fans durning the game.

I paid £35 to go and watch a football match; it appears I have mis-understood the reasons for attending a game.

If it was me next to this "gentleman" and I was singing he would ask me to stop. I have to mime when it comes to community singing as I spoil the effect for everyone. Even at school I was not allowed to sing.I help old ladies acoss the road and with their shopping in the hope that one day one of them will turn out to be a fairygodmother and grant me a wish and that wish would be be:-

Please give me a musical memory so that I can sing in tune with everyone else.

I love singing but it is painful for others to hear.

We have something in common, if I was to start singing it would clear the Stadium, I would be useful in case of a fire.

I've stood in the Northam with some "lads" and had a few pints before the game and tried to squeeze two pints in at half time and consequently missed some of the football.
After a few beers you do find yourself getting involved in the sign language with the opposition supporters. The game becomes a bit of a side show and just a reason to cheer louder.

You can only ever speak for yourself but watching football drunk is not for me as I'm intense watcher of the game and I'm absorbed by it like a good movie.

Good he's been banned. I did sing yesterday but not all game. The reason why I pay money is to follow my football team, same as everyone else. Everyone has the right to do that in their own way, especially when it's snowing and bloody cold!
