Just been watching MotD and a comment was made along the lines of, as Saints fans do we want to see that kind of reaction from our manager. They said no we wouldn't - so I put it to you, do we?

My opinion, while I liked the friendliness and attitude that Adkins brought to the club most the top level clubs / managers have a ruthless edge to them that I feel Poche is bringing to the club. Therefore, while in an ideal world I'd like us as a club to not react like that, but then this isn't a world...
 
It shows how much it means (and same with Guly's reaction). I wouldn't like to see it regularly or used as an intimidatory ploy, as United have been known to, but in singular instances like today, a bit of passion is fine and healthy.
 
As long as it's not something we see week in week out then I'm not too bothered by him reacting, it shows passion and that isn't a bad thing.
 
I am not sure if he was that bad. Was it any worse than Moyes refusing to shake the refs hand last week or the Man U players reactions to the ref against Real Madrid. Although I expect he will now get a ban to add to our woes.

Holloway was worse, running on and screaming obscenities.

Pochettino walked on, spoke to the ref with hands in unthreatening manner and then walked away.

Yes but you see the difference in the media reaction and them all talking about 'unsavoury and disgraceful scenes' on Match of the Day, no doubt it will result in a ban for someone, whereas ITV and the media were all too busy blaming the Turkish referee for being biased against English sides to complain about the reaction of the United players, which was no different but the only punishment they will get is fines for players refusing to talk to television afterwards, as that is the most important thing keeping the money men happy, they aren't worried about the respect campaign in contrast.
 
I voted no only because it can result in trouble we don't need and encourage player bad behaviour (ditto). He was dignified and I appreciate passion, but no point in it as the penalty was saved. No point in it if the penalty was scored either, but that would be more understandable. He certainly didn't display the ugliness of a Ferguson.
 
No one should tolerate inequality or unfairness. I am pleased to see that our choirboy image is starting to fade and if we bully referees like Fergie then I am all for it.
 
I voted No, Markus hated confrontation, I am all for Passion for the Club, but it has to be Controlled and not illegal or we will pay for it.
 
The silliest thing was Punchies contribution, three minutes and all he did was get a yellow for dissent, how daft is that?
 
After a decision like that I very much doubt the player reaction would of been any different under Adkins.
They had put in a decent shift in tricky conditions and set for a well earned point and then a ludicrous decision looks set to wipe that away. Watching the game I was pissed off too.

I'm pretty confident Adkins would not have been so public in his criticism of the ref, but I don't think Pochettino crossed the line.
 
Having watched our players surround the ref again on MOTD I've got to give credit to Schneiderlin who manages to put himself inbetween the ref and Guly numerous times. He's definitely a future captain.

I'm all for passion, but it is a pet hate of mine the way people use the term passion to explain away an individual behaving in the wrong way. Reacting angrily and / or in an intimidating manner is not passion, it's bad behaviour.

However, in this instant I don't think Poche was too bad , think one or two of the players will be lucky to get away with no punishment.
 
I thought Poch was quite dignified although probably still in the wrong, but I didn't really mind htat. Some of players got carried away, two biggest no-nos for me are pushing into the referee (Charge up to him and then stop on the spot like a soldier, don't keep walking and puffing your chest out and forcing him to backtrack) and raised hands/pointing in his face, there was a little bit of that which I didn't like but nothing too serious.
 
I don't know why people forgot football is made up of people doing their job. Why oh why is it acceptable to be rude to a collegue or the like just because it's football?? Clatternburg is doing his best as were his assistants and yes they made a mistake. I have a lot more respect for people who treat people with respect no matter what job they happen to be doing. Passion is far more than shouting and being a dick when things don't go your way and the pictures on MOTD are an embaressing to this club. People who can act with class and dignity even in difficult moments are the type of people I'd like to see asociated with out club or be associated with in general.
