Sturridge would be near the top of my list for a new striker, if it was at all possible.

Daniel Sturridge has warned parent club Chelsea that he will be forced to look elsewhere if he is not a first-team regular next season.

The 21-year-old striker has proven his Premier League pedigree during a loan spell at Bolton, notching eight goals in 11 appearances since his arrival in January

"I don't want to say I am going to leave the club, I want to play regularly, but for me next season it is very important to play first-team football.

"I want to play at Chelsea but if the chances don't come at Chelsea, then I will have to look elsewhere."

If he's not going back to Chelsea, he'll go to Bolton.

He would be perfect, if we got him, with Gyan, i'd be ****ing delighted.

    Defoe unhappy as well....

Gyan, Bothroyd , Defoe, Sturridge, Noble.

    **** yeah.

Jersey, would Boltn pay £12million ish?

    Would they bollocks.

I agree i think we could outbid Bolton but i also think the lad said he would be happy to stay at Bolton.
This is one of the reasons why i get so frustrated we get 40,000 average Bolton struggle yet teams like this Fulham etc still finish above us. I do believe we will succeed eventually

But an ambitious self confident lad like Sturridge, he'd like to play in front of 40k a week i reckon.

    We could get him

Sturridge would be a great call, but the attractions of the bright lights of London and the rolling Cheshire countryside far outweigh Cleadon Hills or our town.

Hey ho. I love it here tho.

don't think we could do much better than Sturridge. if he wants out, Bolton would have to sell Cahill to get him, and even then they may not want to part with the cash.

he and Defoe unhappy and on the move? if nothing else, there will be some meat in the market this summer. should be fun.

Rate him very highly but would he be willing to take a pay cut?

He's on massive wages at Chelski

I don't know, they paid over £8m for Elmander and with the Cahill money that is sure to come their way?

The impression is he just wants to play.

It's a great sign of attitude as well that, and there's no guarantee he's on massive wages at Chelsea, he want from a youth contract to Chelsea.

Hence from a youth contract (at Man City) to Chelsea.

    The key word is TO.

I think if you check BB he didn't go on a youth contract.

Its time the club started going for people like this and showed ambition, Gyan came and Bent came so why not Defoe and Sturridge, I know the answer really and maybe thats our problem, if we dont believe why should they.

Quite agree. Been quite underwhelmed by some of the names being bandied about - quite depressing. Where's that rope?

syd, that's it exactly, all well and good mentioning these top quality players but i can't shake the feeling that come the end of the transfer window our strikers will be noble, crocked campbell, jobsworth well-travelled a.n. other, and gyan, who we've battled to keep all summer. hope i'm wrong like.

FROM a youth contract to Chelsea mate, meaning he may not be on a mega contract.

    Yes?
