I agree it's very interesting about the sexism in F1, why do women get F1 testing roles when they have hardly any amount of experience in single seaters and are yet put ahead of far more "capable" (men) only because they're a different gender?

I doubt Bottas or Pastor could of got away with being on the cover of Nuts and still get close to F1 having a **** record like Wolffs...

So yeah, let's talk about sexism!

    Talent > Gender.

The only reason they're asking Suzi about sexism is because she is a woman herself. If Jake was presenting again then the topic wouldn't have come up. That in itself is sexist, I feel.

Damm good point you have there.

The only woman I can think of atm who might have done well is if Patrick had done a season of GP2 last year instead of NASCAR then she potentially wwould have been on par.

    Not convinced by Wolff.

Not being sexist in any way but...

Is it not fact that Susie Wolff is sleeping with someone to get that test role?

She's married to Toto Wolff, which made it even more surprising that Williams elevated her to a potential driving role after he left for Mercedes.

Katherine Legge showed she could mix it in single seaters quite well. There haven't been many out there though who could realistically say they could make the grade.

That just sounds wrong to me. Conjures up images of old men in dirty, brown macs for some reason. But maybe that's just me ;)

I think thats known as positive discrimination - if factually correct. However that said, I would love to see a competitive woman in F1 who is there purley down to their ability, whether it will ever happen is a different thing all together.

If its meant to be a mental boost for young girls to go out racing at a young age then I'm all up for it. But they first need a woman who can actually do a good job rather than make it a laughingstock like ones we have now, and they have.

The F1 world is actually laughing at how **** these woman drivers they're selecting to be their test drivers. They should do themselves a favour and find some young female talent, fund them, guide them and make them into proper F1 drivers rather than these F1 plastics I keep seeing.

Patrick is probably the best F1 calibre driver in the world, would love to see her in F1 to get it in motion. Other than that the rest we are seeing as these test roles can forget it, YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, EVEN IF YOU WERE A BLOKE!

Getting sick of Mrs Wolffs smug face knowing she is only there because her husband was on the board of directors at Williams.

Too right. If they continually get women into the sport who clearly don't make it on merit, and they in all likeliness, fall flat on their faces, that will only further discourage young girls from racing altogether. So it is meant to be a mental boost for young women, but drivers like Susie Wolff (assuming she gets a drive and fails) I fear will have the exact opposite effect.

Exactly can you imagine the ridicule a young girl would get at school if she looked up to one of these young female drivers and she did rubbish? Scar the poor girl for the rest of her life, always thinking females are lesser than men. It would put off girls more so than encourage them if somebody life Wolff drove in F1, watching somebody like Bottas get in the points with a couple podiums and then there's Wolff struggling down in 18th all season.
