So Stefano sounds pretty confident, totally at odds with what Alonso was saying. Will Ferrari make up their mind, is the car good or not?
The car is good. Domenicali, Fry and Massa all sound confident. Then you have Alonso bullshitting, telling everyone that the F138 is off the pace. Marc Gene told Spanish media that Alonso is actually very happy with the car.
A) because I just thought of the slogan Max Power and want to use it
B) because everyone else hates him and I thought what the hell![]()
Well, A) I could get used to Max Power myself The car is good. Domenicali, Fry and Massa all sound confident. Then you have Alonso bullshitting, telling everyone that the F138 is off the pace. Marc Gene told Spanish media that Alonso is actually very happy with the car.
This ties in with what I posted this morning but, for me, the question here is: is Alonso bullshitting for egotistical reasons or are his remarks part of a pre-season mis/disinformation campaign?
Just thought of something, courtesy of Baldy Benson. Now Hugo Chavez has died, what happens with Maldo's sponsorship money? What if the new leader isn't so keen on funding his sportsmen?
I doubt it, if it was a disinformation campaign, then surely the team would be involved too.
Personally, I don't think Pastor's funding is in any jeopardy in the short-term. The cost of his sponsorship is peanuts in comparison to the kind of subsidies they give to other socialist nations, for example. As for the politics, I'll be shocked if Chávez's deputy and anointed heir, NÃcolas Maduro, isn't elected in a wave of fervent grief. Plus, Pastor's bloody good: Venezuela's got talent and he can give them something positive right now.
I mean it more in the nice cop/nasty cop kind of way, you know, be contrary just to confuse.
Good point, hadn't considered the good cop/bad cop routine. So is Alonso Mel Gibson or Danny Glover?
For some strange reason, Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect springs to mind. I thought Maduro inherited the role anyway, without needing to be elected?
Surely Ferrari have a policy in place that forces everyone's stories to be the same? Why allow Alonso to downplay expectation when everyone else is talking up the F138?

I was wondering about this, wasn't Pastor's drive this year only guaranteed if Chavez was reelected?
I believe the only potential threat to Pastor's funding is the opposition coalition winning upcoming elections, even then it doesn't mean they'd necessarily cut it. I think Benson's fishing for a dramatic story that isn't there; not like Benson, eh?
now they are asking her about sexism in F1
