Long run will not be winning the gold cup. He couldnt win the worst gold cup in a long time last year, he wont be anywhere near in a field as strong as this.

I am laughing at the fact everyone thinks this is a strong GC

Sir Des Champs <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> 4th in a Lexus and beat a horse that doesn't stay and was suffering from a lung infection. OOOPS he beat the great Champion Court last year at Chelts <rofl>

So yeah Bobs Worth who beat Tidal Bay receiving 6lbs is fav. He was "****" when he got beat off Invictus just 3 starts ago make your minds up lads ;) I do like him but he certainly isn't unbeatable.

Silviniaco Conti I respect for sure but LONG RUN has a massive chance will be placed at least

Careful RV, I got laughed at for suggesting that IMPERIAL COMMANDER beat a better field than this one...............
Where would the ten year olds DENMAN & KAUTO STAR be in the betting for this renewal?

I'm completely with Boris about Long Run. This one's become something of a dog and only a freak of nature will see him win another gold cup. It takes a real horse to win more than one. Reference: my siggy ;)

Cant compare these horses to Kauto and Denman, they are only second season chasers remember, this is the most potential ive seen in a gold cup for a while, chance for a new star to stamp his authority.

I wouldnt be too hard on Sir Des Champs, hes clearly been brought along slowly for this race and he needs good in the description to really show what he can do.

Boris you missed it alright the talk all over the net that this is a brilliant GC <ok> <laugh> at Anastasia

    LONG RUN - Starts 24 Wins 14 Seconds 6 Thirds 4 Winnings £1,087,933 Earnings £1,419,537

yeah he is rubbish <ok> no falls or unseats from 24 starts definitely an awful jumper of a fence as well. Get real <laugh> not the most fluent but CLEVER ;) will be placed in the gold cup at least.

Not a dog mate but typical French bred in that he peaked earlier than we are used to. Would also have been a better horse professionally ridden!

rv, Long Run is a good jumper <ok>

hes just low over his fences and dosent leave much room for error, which isnt ideal when hes being ridden by SWC, they will look back at Long Runs career and think he could have won a lot more.

Wouldn't disagree Stick with that. I'll admit the 2011 Gold Cup was a fantastic race, Long Run looked like the world was his oyster but in hindsight Kauto and Denman were both well on the downgrade. The fact LR couldn't cope with the 11 yo Kauto Star was omnious. The fact Long Run couldn't win last year's Gold Cup hammered the final nails into the coffin for me with regards to LR being anything more than another mediocre gold cup winner.

I'm competely with Boris- the potential this year, in SDC and BW makes me see Long Run as an also ran (only reason I'm not sold on SC is due to what was said last year about Cheltenham's suitability for him). Will Hill could lay him at 100-1 and I still wouldn't be interested in him (as a possible winner that is)

Well done Captain. We're all entitled to opinions no matter how petulant.

I'm glad you enjoyed your night.

Why are the Spanish teams protected in the champions league though? In the last 4 years Chelsea were robbed against Barcelona(3 penalty decisions not given), Arsenal again against Barcelona(RVP sent off whilst cruising in a dubious decision.) and now tonight Man u with a controversial red card. Which ever way you look at it, the Spanish elite seem to get alot of 'luck' with the refs.

Piss off Stick, 9 year old Imperial Commander would have a great chance, 12yo Imperial Commander off from a long layoff with a far from ideal preparation. No chance. Kauto Star and Denman couldn't win the Gold Cup as a 10yo, so Imperial Commander aged 12 definitely couldn't.

BTW, Horses aged 10+ (0-5-45) have gained no wins and 5 places in the last 10 runnings from just under a third of the total runners.

LOL RV, nice argument. Convenient argument. SDC has been aimed at this race all season, loves it round Cheltenham and will appreciate good ground. Bob's Worth, fyi, had a wind operation hence he went from '****' to not ****. Silviniaco Conti battered Long Run this season. He couldn't win the worst gold cup in memory when the trainer was in the form of his life and scrapped home against a field of non-stayers on bottomless ground at Kempton. Nee chance lad IMHO.

SDC loves it round Cheltenham because he won a donkey handicap hurdle and beat the superstar Champion Court <laugh> will not win the GC 100% promise. I know about BW but his form isn't as good as people are making it out to be atm. Since when did Tidal Bay become the best thing since sliced bread again <laugh> this is a **** GC imo

LONG RUN will win it <ok>

SC beat LR but had won the Charlie Hall 3 weeks earlier ffs that run was a HUGE advantage.
