The players were eligible.
The fine was imposed for not disclosing the side letters as regards EBT's. No fine was imposed for actually using EBT's. From that we can conclude that using the EBT's is within the rules and had Rangers disclosed the side letters at the time the EBT's were in operation then the investigation culminating in Nimmo's commision would not have happened or been required. We would still have won those titles.
That's all there is to it.
That is certainly my understanding of it and lets face, we aren't both going to be wrong!
