100 % agree with you. he should be ashamed of himself. He still wouldnt let it go when Michu pushed him away. Yet again this was the highlight on the back pages and not the overwhelming performance. I would have taken him off stright after JDG scored the pen. Did anyobe else notice that Michu was trying to set him up everytime he had the ball after the incident, when normally he would have shot himself.
The main problem here was that someone (probably Ash) should have stepped in and told JDG or Dyer what was happening. Dyer was being a tad 'silly' although understable in his eagerness to get his hat trick but JDG was prevented from scoring by the goalkeeper so morally he had the right to score and maybe (who knows) get some form of goal bonus. The bottom line is he took a great penalty and scored.
This game wasnt and shouldnt have been about Dyer and a possible hat trick. He is part of the team and should accept what has been decided and the way it is. He was bang out of order imo. As i said earlier, yet again somones antics connected to the club has overshadowed a great achievement. Glam however i do agree that as captain Ash should have stepped in. It took Michu to sought it.
I would disagree there mate. I have yet to see one headline mentioning it. Yes, there are references to it within the stories/interviews but I would hardly call a few column inches overshadowing what was a great achievement. I think we are discussing it on here more than any of the red tops and local rags. Even talkshite are talking more about it being a devalued competition than anything to do with Dyer. Mind you twathead Durham will say anything controversial to spark a phone in lol.
Bap have a look at the back of the sun then. Have listened to Talksport on my way back. Each show started with the Dyer thing. I just dont think a professional should be doing that on the pitch. This was on the back page. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...p-2-goal-Nathan-Dyer-defends-penalty-row.html That back page main story should have been Ash lifting the cup.
TLF. I bought the Sun along with the Post and Mail this morning and all they do is refer once inside the 5 page pullouts. They obviously felt it wasnt newsworthy enough to put it in print. Still as I said earlier I agree with you mate he should have let it lie once JDG had decided not to give him the ball, but JDG could have been a bit more gracious and allowed him to have the opportunity. The game was won after all, with the emotion of the day and adrenalin pumping so he got carried away its done now. I am sure with MOM and a winners medal he aint too bothered Ml doesnt seem to bothered and neither do the club. After all its a New Dawn and a New Day for us onwards and upwards.
Have a look at the link mate that was on the back page of the sun i bought. Mind you it was bought in England. Maybe the welsh one is slightly different. Maybe i just dont like our players acting like a spoilt child. But as you say its done now and time to forget about it. I Probably am being a little harsh.
As I said in an earlier post, JdG knew that Dyer had made his mark with two goals and, understandably, wanted to make his own history with a goal - particularly as he was the one who was cheated of his goal by the foul. Had JdG already scored, I'm sure he would have gladly handed the ball to Dyer for him to try and get his hat trick.
I did look at the link mate and that headline doesnt exist in my Sun this morning. I have a nice wraparound front and rear page full of photos celebrating a great day. Headlines like LAUD and Proud, Matt Red and Buried, Better not Laudrop the boss, Swan hell of a fairy tale and my favourite taking Centre spread "SUNSPORT SALUTE TO THE CAPITAL ONE HEROES" and underneath that "TON-DERFUL"!!! BTW I havent cherry picked those that is all of them and thats just the SUN and 9 pages of coverage As I said, I am basing my opinion onwhat I have read this morning; no overshadowing; quite the contrary. If that is all an English version is saying I feel sorry for Bradford readers That will teach you to buy a paper in England and listen to Talkshite lol My advice put the Wave on (they love us) and buy yourself another Sun this side of the bridge, you will feel sooo much better lol

Sorry for the double post not sure what happened there it asked me if I wanted to leave the page thats never happened before
I felt for dyer at the time but the designated penalty taker must take the penalties, right decision was made in a professional way but i can understand dyers reaction...
Wow, has no one realised that some elements of the media will always want to find a negative and dwell on that rather than giving the justified respect....Its the same with some visiting not606ers. They are both wums, but one gets paid for it. Don't rise to it. You are pissing on your own parades as its just a storm in a tiny Dyer sized tea cup! A problem with us Welsh is an inbuilt inferiority complex which can make us see **** that doesn't really exist. You are simply adding wood to a vary tiny ember smouldering in some negative peoples minds. WE WON, ENJOY, RISE ABOVE IT...AND DON'T LET THE NAYSAYERS DRAG U DOWN
Not that it matters now but just to clarify Dai, JDG wasnt our designated penalty taker we didnt have one.
if you're getting your moral compass from the Sun then there are definately problems afoot. It was such a silly spat, I found it funny, now we have people saying it "ruined the day" "tarnished the victory" "a disgrace" and so on, what an absoloute crack up!! It was a fantasic day, I'm proud of every single one of them, and as happy as I was the day we beat Hull to stay up.
bapp no professional club would go into a match without first deciding if a penalty was awarded then who will take it....Jdg was chosen either by laudrup himself or most definitely the captain and players...why did you think michu ran over to dyer to calm him down and remind him who has been chosen......you cant possibly think nobody was chosen do you.. we are a better professional club than you think mate. we prepared and trained for an eventuality like that...
Even if we hadnt appointed anyone if (which I find hard to believe) JDG was prevented from scoring by the goalkeeper so morally he had the right to score. He withstood the added pressure that Dyer put on him and took a great penalty and scored. So lets move on but maybe ML should practice Dyer winding up our penaty takers before they practice their penalties in the future
Dai, Laudrup himself admitted that he did not designate a spot kicker and apologised for it. Apparently, Michu got involved only because he asked Laudrup to clarify the position ie JdG should take the pen.
Don't always believe Sir Mike! Since one or two howlers early this season, he has learnt quickly how to deal with the British Press and is very good in diffusing situations, and maybe not telling the full truth
