If he plays next game, then it is an absolute insult to the rest of the team, and especially if he's captain again. An absolute disgrace today and for the past 10/15 games!

P.S - Hobbs should be captain!

tad over the top just remember koren is being asked to play as a striker !!!
Far better playing behind a front two.

    Koren's toast...

GB in from the off v. Birmingham. Only bright spark in a otherwise terrrible performance.

Boyd showed that he is clearly far more suited to that role.

To be fair to Koren, he has been playing in that role just off the striker, and it doesn't seem the best fit for him. One of his best games this season was the opener vs Brighton where he was pretty deep.

Koren hasn't managed to get close to his form of last season, but he doesn't look comfortable as a second striker, he looks better in midfield, so it's not entirely his fault.

It's also not true to say he's been poor for 10-15 games, he was excellent on Tuesday night.

Personally disagree with you, i would drop Evans move Koren deeper and put Meyler as the DM with Boyd behind a striker. Evans is a far greater liability than Koren ever will be.

I struggle to understand this. SB has built a team around, what he deems his strongest players. Clearly he cant class Koren one of them if he is having to shoe horn him in as a striker. This is no fault of Koren's, however he shouldnt be played pretty much every match purely because "it's not his natural position".

I too would expect Boyd to start up top with Gedo next week.

Don't know what people still see in Koren. Definitely living off past glories. Even when he was pitching in with goals he would contribute absolutely nowt for most of the game. Needs to be dropped now we have Boyd.

people are quick to forget about how he played on Tuesday night.

He is playing out of position as well. I would possibly play Meyler, Quinn and Koren in midfield for the next match !

I think after today's showing it would be totally justifiable to drop Koren, despite him playing out of position. However, Evans was just as bad, and with us being at home next game I would drop him for Boyd instead and go out to attack Birmingham.

Bruce choose to play the 3.5.2 to accomodate Koren because he can't play in a 4.4.2.

It seems daft that we have kept the formation but are playing Koren up front. I don't think Bruce rates Evans much so Meyler could be dropped back into the holding position for the next match with Koren and Quinn alongside him. Boyd and Gedo upfront.

We need plenty of options in the run in. I think Koren will play most of the games but not all of them.

I don't think Bruce shoe horns him in as a striker , I just think he has little faith in what forwards we have so plays koren there , Evans is deffo the weak link in the team , still could do with another loan forward as Simpson is pants !

Can someone please explain to me why they want to play Meyler as the defensive midfielder?

Why has Meyler been such a hit for us? - He gets all over the pitch, makes attacking runs and can pop up for a goal. Definitely NOT what a defensive midfielder could do.

He hasn't looked great when being played as the defensive midfielder before - but even if you have faith in him to do that job, you are just wasting what has made him such a hit for us this season.

Koren is an attacking centre-midfielder and nothing else. He's pretty ineffective on the right wing and as a striker but play him in his best position and we've still got a bloody good player there.

SB will earn his brass this week. i have every faith in the big fella. I was right in line with the technical area today to see his reaction when yet another misplaced pass occured. He too was looking at the sky. Back on the bike next week. Hopefully!!

Mainly as i am sure Koren can do his role in midfield and Meyler can do what Evans does. Evans offers us nothing at least this way we can keep the attacking instinct of Koren and get Boyd in the side to. I think Boyd's movemene would work well with Koren in the side, and to be fair i think i would stick myself in the team ahead of Evans after his performance today.
