A terrific interview and he was as honest as he's ever been. Just what you expect from a man of his stature. What struck me was when he said that he'd learned many things about the future - and repeated it. I take it that he means that certain players do not have a future.... with us. I believe he had to say what he did about his team selection because there could be severe repercussions if he admitted that he deliberately fielded a weakened team for this game.
But not only that Ivor he stated he was wrong in his evaluation of the starting XI! That's good enough for me, though I think he also got the team setup wrong aswell! He's human and we'll bounce back from this, poor Bradford aye!...............
Gutted by the result, and the way our players played. ML took a risk, a very big one, and it bit us in the ass. I dont blame ML 100% tho, the players are the ones who let us down the most. Our squad has been great all season, getting us to the League cup final and keeping us competitive in the PL at the same time. We have come so far, in such short a space of time, and thats proved by the expectations put on US, that we lose to a team with the resources of Liverpool. As we all know, we need a kick up the arse every now and again to progress, and this will give ML and HJ the ammo to get rid of some of the dead wood and mistakes in the summer.

Guys, stop moaning If he had fielded a full strength team and say Michu and Ash had picked up injuries everyone would have been saying wft was he doing risking our best players just before such an important cup game. Laudrup wrote this game off to make sure Chico is the only player likely to miss the final and was probably expecting us to lose 1-0 or 2-0 tops going by our past defensive displays. Yes its not nice to lose 5-0 but if we win 5-0 next week and Michu scores a hat-trick then all will be forgotten

Well I wouldn't congratulate him either, Dai. But he's bought well and you have to say we were well beaten even though our second string looked more like a G string.
We played as 11 individuals today and each individual played poorly. There was no team cohesion, no willingness to battle and certainly no quality shown. Basically today we were QPR. Win the final next week and all will be forgotten, after all it's only 3 points, no matter what the deficit. Could have fielded our strongest team and still lost 1-0 picking up a knock or two along the way. May not seem like the right call now but who knows what could have happened otherwise. There again we may still lose next week then people will be looking back to today asking why did you let morale take a beating... Please don't let that happen Michael!!
Ohh the EuroDisney Cup. A Cup that both LFC and Spurs held in such high regard they both tried to not qualify for it in 2011 as it was seen as an unnecessary distraction. I and many Reds was pissed off we had to play in it this season as its a **** comp worth no money that no big club bothers with. The Spurs fans i speak to said that when Chelski took their CL place, they didnt Even want to olay on it ad it was such an insult. It's the League Cup of European football were bigger clubs play their kids and ressies. Brendan's only playing our first team now as theirs no chance of 4th or the FA Cup and the fans aren't happy about that so it's all he has left. I imagine its a attractive tournament for you but with all due respect it doesn't hold the prestige or financial rewards of the CL and top players won't join u just coz you have EL football, so it's just a hindrance to the league campaign as you have to play thurs in the arse end of Russia, then again Sunday all the time. It's a competition that we certainly won't miss.

We beat Liverpool's second string in the Capital One cup and it's a massive victory. They beat ours in the League and it was "just our reserves".
Liverpool had the good fortune to play The Swans' the week before their first ever major Cup Final. It would seem they took full advantage of that. So,well done to them,but it shouldn't go to their heads.
I hardly think that is it, lets be honest you can only play whats put infront of you, and we didn't put much, enjoy your win by all means, but you've not beaten our best, that's for sure! So Wembley it is then.........................

I must say ive learned a bit from today, if we do win the cup next week then its squad teams like this that might be playing more of our games in Europe next season. These players needed time to show their worth before the end of the season. Hopefully ML knows where he needs to strengthen next season if we end up having all them extra matches in Europe.
