I'm not a fan of the babe of the day either, though some of the other off-topic stuff is quite entertaining.
I agree some of it is quite funny and I may be guilty of posting it myself at some point. In my opinion this website has the feel of a lads mag forum rather a Hull City football forum which is a shame.
Babe of the Day isn't to my liking, mainly because the pictures are too softcore and the women in them too ugly (or overrated).
theres only so long you can talk about city in pre season tho, without getting bored .. .. guessing next seasons team, or league position at the minute with 99% teams resembling nothing like they will do next year is pointless... the forum would die a slow death over the next couple of months without the other stuff, and then people might not come back in august...
Exactly! Hit the nail on the head son! I spend a lot of time on other boards though, especially the NUFC one. There's some great banter on here that you just don't get with 606, which I never touched from the middle of May to the middle of August. Add to that the fact that with a bit of awareness, other team's fans might leave 606 for this site, and it might actually get busy over summer, as they try and find their feet and get used to the layout, etc.
A couple of good post from Rosie and No.4, IMO. Which justifies DMD's & OLM's approach to Mod'ing this board. There are other sites, i.e., C.I. for more in-depth footy talk, but there is this board to discuss/argue, in a light-hearted manner, footy and other matters. Not that I expect, or want the detractors to change their minds. Plus this board is less "clique"(?) than some of the other sites out there!
This board is stupidly cliquey, look at how people get shot down for having opinion that goes against the grain slightly. I made a football related thread yesterday and there was about 5 replies out of 60 odd that actually discussed the topic at hand. I appreciate the fact that DMD and OLM do their job on here for nothing, and for the most part do it very well, but I'd like it if they could try and keep threads more football related. Once a post differs from the general consensus then you have to wade through millions of posts of crap just to get to a sensible reply. At the top it says comment, create, debate, freely, but that ain't really possible at the moment is it?
I know i'm in the small minority and I don't expect it to change, I just thought I would make the point. I only really come on here to read Hull City news as there are a few people who know what is going on. I used to really enjoy readin Vital but that has dived off a cliff recently.
I don't know what's happened to vital recently, other than Flying and Southbank and a couple of others, there's nobody left on there.
You've posted threads that have posed perfectly reasonable questions and, in the main, have received perfectly reasonable responses in return. You've posted others that were quite clearly going to get everyone's back up and get you grief. If you want to start a debate about something, then I'd suggest it was down to you, rather than the moderators, to pose the question in such a way as to get your point discussed without it turning into a slanging match. For instance 'What do we think is an acceptable performance and reasonable expectation from the management next season?', would have generated far more serious debate than a leading question like 'How long are we going to give Big Nige?'.
yeah, vital seems to be dying a lonely death. just no discussion or activity for long periods of time. shame really as i enjoyed it, but i think most have probably come here instead.
I find it hard to understand why anyone should be banned for expressing a view. There are wide ranging views on lots of topics in society generally and tolerance and freedom of speech is part of the fabric of our society so unless the law is being broken no one should be banned. Those talking about banning are out of order.
Some poor bastard was executed for stealing a chicken last time I was there, I think we're rather more liberal then that. I'd have definitely let him off, but I don't really like chickens(ugly ****ing things).
I was referring to poor/unfortunate, rather than poor/skint, though I suspect if he'd had a few bob, he'd probably have paid for the chicken.
