Could have either Swansea or Cardiff/Reading joining Norwich and QPR?
QPR apart (who it has to be said have some pretty meaty financial backers behind them), can any of these clubs really survive the top flight?
On paper at least, West Ham, Wigan, Birmingham and Blackburn all look to have far superior squads but have all struggled. Even, it must be said, ourselves, Noocarsel, Villa and WBA have not been out of danger till late in the campaign, so what chance have the clubs mentioned of surviving.
Blackpool have come in and played really well at times but ultimately, I think they are doomed to relegation.
The gap between top of the Championship/2nd tier of English football has always been a big one to circumnavigate but I think its even wider today. All of the promoted teams will have to spend in excess of ã30m IMO just to survive and I don't think any of them will have the ability or the stupidity to do so.
Does this make the EPL more or less competitive?
