Hailed from the same part of Hull as NB on Brickie Ave if I'm not mistaken.

Remember Carig Norrie following him to Holland a little time after without the same success.

Yeah, good Guy.

I was at school with Rob but I'm a couple of years older than him, we were first at Priory Rd then Hull Grammar... He kept in touch with my younger brother as they were good mates.

Rob was desperate to get hold of tickets for our play off game at Wembley and initially stuggled but then ended up with a spare pair after calling in favours using his connections. I sold sold them to a mate for him. We all met up after the game with our sons, settled up for the tickets and had a few beers near the ground just catching up and drinking in the post match atmosphere.

We kept in touch via text but I've not for a while. He had been looking at coaching jobs over here when we made the Prem but good to see he's still keeping busy.

Mike Smith and Cyril Lee - there's a couple of names to give any City fan nightmares. Glad it worked out for McDonald though

Happy memories Bielbs - will always remember bumping in to you all on Wemb Way after - could feel the adrenalin pumping out of all of us

Hope you and yours all well

Thanks for this, I'd forgotten about Rob, I played with him for Hull City boys, along with Pat Heard, Noel Parkinson's, Dave Hawker who all went on to be pro footballers a great team we had. A good centre forward in the Frank Worthington mould

He mentions Cyril Lee -was that the Orient half back in what was 1961/62 possibly the best half back line up in the league? Malcolm Lucas, Syd Bishop, Cyril Lee?

Don't think so - it was a Cyril Lea that worked with Mike Smith - I believe he played for Ipswich maybe Colchester.

He played in my team Sporting Lisbon but probably before my time cause i've never heard of him before.
