I think Modric is on about £75k p/w at Real. Hasn't Spain made taxation there more severe recently, too?
He'll probably sign for QPR! <laugh>

Don't laugh he might <yikes>

"Triffic player, I managed him at Spurs and he was exceptional, a real player, great around the training ground, the Croatians are great to work with, they're great professionals, he's not motivated by money but wanted to return to England where he was just fannn-tastic before and now he wants to get his career back on track".

'Arry Redknapp after signing Luka Modric on a £200k a week deal.

Could anyone answer two questions,please?

1.How long had we been following Holtby?

2.Why is a contract needed if players want to ignore it? I know the contract makes a club legally required to pay the player etc but it makes you think when players say "sod you.I'm off!"

Lots of English clubs had an eye on him because of his link to this country, I believe. I can remember him being linked with a move here about 2 seasons ago, before he'd become a full international.

I seem to remember reading that Holtby let his contract run down because he wanted to play in the PL. No one is obliged to sign a new contract.
