For the Top Gear Festival in Sydney (March 9th-10th) they've managed to get three Australian motor racing legends together: nine-times F1 GP winner Mark Webber, four-times V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup, and two-times MotoGP champion Casey Stoner. They'll be racing each other in their respective machinery (Webber's Red Bull, Whincup's Commodore, and Stoner's Honda) for two laps around the 2.8km North Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park at the famous Eastern Creek raceway.

Webber's Red Bull is predicted to tackle a lap of the course in roughly 50 seconds - 15 seconds a lap faster than the Honda or the Commodore so they get a 30-second-headstart (might wanna double-check that on the Commodore though).

You don't need to know much at all about Australian motorsport to play this; just vote for who you think will win! I'll actually be there so I'll let you know who wins. Your prize? You get to include this almighty passage into your signature: '2013 Australian Speed Showdown Prediction Champion!'

This has never actually happened before, and odds are, never will again. :D

Now ive played GTA IV and plowed through many a motorcyclist.... If I was Stoner and had a Red Bull up my arse I would be laying a brick wall!

Tbh, even I'm a bit stumped as to who'll win. Whincup is the only one who actually drives this circuit regularly (albeit the full circuit) so he's got experience on his side. However this does strike me as the kind of track Stoner enjoys. Despite this I'm still slightly leaning towards Webber.
 
Webber lapped both the bike and V8 Supercar after just three laps of Sydney Motorsport Park’s short circuit.
The V8, driven by four-time champ Jamie Whincup and the bike, ridden by MotoGP world champ Casey Stoner, enjoyed a race long battle before the V8 Supercar took a narrow second place.
 
Sorry for not updating this, got home yesterday pretty late and exhausted so I just kinda forgot about it. It was originally going to be two laps and then suddenly it changed, so it didn't really have the closeness I was expecting.

Anyway, the winners are: Delete Me, El_Bando, EternalMSC, Forza Bianchi, Joey Zyla, The Iceman!
