Not last 10 years, 2000-2001. Back to the main topic. Deano & Campbell were just on fire, Ben & Danny were at a lower level so although excellent & I believe scored more, they just don't have the same appeal.
It's a shame Cousin and King didn't get an opportunity to show what they could REALLY do as I think, given the fact they were up against Premiership defences, they might have surpassed Deano and Campbell.
Yes they were, but Windass and Campbell did the business at a higher level Anyone for Whitehurst and Edwards?
Dont know why everyone is getting excited by FC goal @ TWS on saturday ? It was a mis-placed shot by Bellamy that even Waggy or Chillo could have tucked away. How TWS did not win that game only he upstairs will know.
I'd have said King and Cousin, as that first half a seaosn in the premiership was some of the best attacking football we've played in my life time (80s onwards)
Against some of the worst sides in the country and clubs with very small budgets/expectations. Like saying Marc Joseph and Greg Strong were the best central defensive pairing we've ever had.
It depends how we're defining best in my opinion, in terms of ability it would have to be King, Geo, Cousin.
While he wasn't as good as Mutrie or Edwards I would say Whitehurst and Bunn was the most complimentary of Billy's partners.
