remember when we did this not long ago, and everyone said messi.

well surely the best player in the world at this moment is ronaldo...

if anyone get's a chance to watch madrid v villareal from yesterday, take it.

ronaldo, two absolutely blinding free kicks.

9 goals in the last three matches...

38 goals this season, making him joint top scorer in a season in spain. ever..

the worlds most expensive player, and judging on this season, you can see why.

forget messi and kaka, (not messy kaka) ronaldo is the best at the moment.

I think Messi scored 48 last season and has 53 this, so how does that work?

There is no denying Cammachio that C. Ronaldo is a brilliant player. Defo one of the best to have played the game. I would wet myself if I saw his name on a Sunderland teamsheet. However, if you look at stats for the last few years in Spain where it has been a Messi or Ronaldo debate, then Messi is the better player. He contributes more to the TEAM than Ronaldo does. And while individual skill is definitely something that will put you up there with the worlds greatest - it's how you contribute to the team that really matters. There is a reason why Barcelona are the best team in the world today, and alot of that can be contributed to Messi.

Hands down the best player in the world for me at the moment. Messi scored more goals this season than anyone in Spanish football ever. And if you think about the players that have played in Spain... that's no small feat.

No i think it's 33 in the league, but his assist column also dwarves that of C. Ronaldo's, and i'm sure i read somewhere that he had played 4 times as many passes!!

Admittedly Barca do play sideways a lot.

Messi is the better for me, and i think the stats back it up, the second vs Real in the Bernabeau summed up everything that is beautiful about football, touch, pace, skill, balance, vision and a wonderful finish.

Ronaldo could not have scored that goal, as his dribbling style is more direct, he can't 'slalom' like Messi, as he is a bigger physical lad, with a higher centre of gravity.

Messi is Barca's 3rd highest all time scorer at the age of 23, that is simply staggering.

If Messi turns up for a world cup between now and his careers end, he will knock Maradona and Zidane off my perch as the best player ever, he is simply staggering.

Messi for me all day long.
He will be remembered in the same way as Maradona,Pele and Cruyff for being one of the best EVER.
