I heard that Peter Odemwingie turned up at West Brom's ground today thinking he would get a game. After a heated exchange with the manager, he was told to calm himself down and leave the ground.

"Get your head sorted out. Go for a drive....."

****ing hell, isn't that how this all started? <laugh>

Well, he's had 2 games with a stronger squad, and we have won both games, including coming from behind to beat Chelsea.

So, I am not complaining at the moment - as if he continues the good run then I am happy to hold my hand up and say I was wrong, but he has to prove it over more than just 2 games.

Lets see how it goes but to be honest sacking him is pointless.

I know what you mean, its all about consistency longer term. Short term though I do think it runs both ways. He backed it up game after game last season. So he was well in credit for me when this season kicked off. We were probably as well organised as any team last year. For half a season this season we have been as unorganised as any team, injuries or not. I just think with managers you have got to give them 3-5 seasons to get a picture of what the norm is for them. Early seasons I think you have to allow bad runs of form as long as they have shown signs they will play a brand of football you can support and get behind. We know his preference is on the deck, but we also know under the pump he struggles to remind the players to play that way. He has to learn from our recent run as much as the players do for me.

Never wanted him out, but did start to lose faith in him, especially in relation to his tactics and substitutions. Now he has a very good squad available to him and minimal injuries. The jury is still out to some extent, only time will tell.
