Our owners are in it for the long haul. They've not done anything in the two and a half years that they've been here to suggest anything otherwise.

This could happen to anyone. I remember when Don Robinson sold up, wasn't a pretty sight, this is why we are in the situation we are now, not because of DR, but it started the ball rolling, sold on, then sold on, then sold on.

Yup - that's the depressing cycle of what British football has unfortunately become. Even Pearson sold our top scorer and fooked off in a relegation battle because he "couldnt take the club any further" if you remember correctly.

There is a difference though between those who have local connections taking on a club and trying to run a club in a sustainable way with a philanthropic mandate, and outside investors of the Lloyd, Bartlett, Glazier, Sheikh Mansour, John Henry, Chainrai, Short, Venkys et al. type of which Leicester and Kingpower have to be included. Believe you me - Adam Pearson is a City legend, but made his money from the club - almost certainly taking out more than he put in - he did make it a profitable business again and attract significant investment though for which we all should be eternally grateful, but even he has to be classed as an outside investor in the cold hard light of day. Even took his City profit and stuck it in Derby, then Gateshull FFS!

My (and your ) point is that this is the nature of football. Great when it all goes well, not nice when it goes bad. We are fairly unique by having a benefactor rather than an investor (though in reality he's both) at the helm for the time being and the plan is to run it at it's maximum sustainable potential, and not put the club at risk for personal gain. Modest year on year improvement is my expectation, though there has been a definite increase in both investment and promotion prospects this year when they have taken full control.

International investors are here simply because the BPL is the biggest casino in the world to them and a tax-dodge to boot, despite their efforts to be accepted as genuine men of the people and have the club interests at heart.

I don't need to be convinced that Allam has the club and city at heart as it is a simple fact that a sensible business decision would have been to let the club fold, buy it for £1 and then build from the bottom again. We could have filled the stadium challenging for L2 promotion - we have before and Allam would still have been a local messiah.

Not enough credit to Allam for the responsibility he's taken on and the backing he's given us.

It wouldn't have cost 40m to buy the club out of admin and build from the lower leagues but he did it to retain competitive status.

The ****ers whinging about not signing a striker (despite signing one with a record of 17 in 31 at international level) are just twats in my book, especially considering the fact we got to the Automatic spots in December with less depth than we have now. On paper we are stronger for the second half of the season and some fans are bottling it! Can hardly blame the players if the fans are bricking it at the first unexpected defeat!

No ****ing wonder Leicester trolls are more at home on here that they are their own ****ing board. Some city fans are as much pillocks as they are in my view.

I think if you looked at Allam's donations to other Hull sporting, educational and cultural ventures then I think you would revise that Viewpoint. I don't think he's in it to loose money, but he is fantastically rich and his motivation is legacy rather than profit per se.

Of course a successful Hull City, and Hull being a higher profile city as a result of sporting success won't do his genuine business interests any harm, and there are probably tax breaks, but he has donated millions to various causes in the city, often where there is no obvious financial return.

Believe me, I'm a cynical bastard. I find it hard to believe but nothing I can find casts doubt on the above.

You often get jealousy from clubs further down the table with less points. They have have to clutch at straws by informing us that we have a German striker that hasn't played or scored much. Although it's a good job he hasn't (for them) or else we'd be out of sight.

That's how I see it going, although there's usually a late arrival that really hits the ground running around March. You'd be a fool to expect the league to change drastically, it very rarely does. The great thing is we've still got all the sides around us to play at home, rather than away (with the exception of Palace).

Half the fun of a multi-club forum is to take the mick a bit when people are wrong, just like the Proschwitz situation, and just like us last season when we all got a bit carried away with our spending and thought we would win the league

For the record, I am not here to gloat, but you can't make comments like the ones made and not expect some sort of reaction when they come back to bite you.

And, I am by no means getting carried away, I am not silly enough to think second is ours, the gap is still only 3 points and anything can happen between now and the end of the season.

Ideally I would like both of us to go up to be honest with you, but I can't see one team overtaking Cardiff, let alone two!
