anyone blame quinny for the recent slump

After reading all the threads and posts off last night and this morning, there is a growing concern that some people are now starting to vent their frustration at quinny as well as bruce.

The bruce debate has been done to death, but i'm trying to get a gauge on people's opinions on the big man himself.

Please let's not turn it into a bruce out thread,

Looking for quinn can do no wrong or quinn is not strong enough, and the likes.

And if he is to blame let us know why.

I have voted that he must share the responsibility because he is chairman. Not going down the Bruce in or out route, to me its simple.

The season has gone very wrong, forget the why we accept it has.

To differing degrees responsibilty is shared.



Short, owner, invester and ultamitly the buck stops with him.

Quinn, chairman and runs club day to day, must act to find out the why then rectify.

Bruce, manager, day to day responsibilty for team and results, must answer questions and convince the other two he has answers.

Players, must accept responsibility, yesterday they played very well first half, why not second?

Fans, biased I know but cant see how we can really be found at fault.
 
I too have voted that Niall must take some share of the responsibility for what has happened. I pretty much agree with Syd's analysis.
 
Sounds like this going to be all Nial has to take some blame as he is chaiman i also think he needs to be a bit tougher and not the nice guy all the time

I agree about Quinn and love him but see how its fickle. Not saying he should go, lets turn against him but everyone must take some responsibilty, I think Quinn would agree with that.

Quinny is the best chairman in the league by a country mile and in no way at fault for our poor run. That honor goes to Bent and the worst injury crisis in living memory.

So who takes responsibility for not getting a replacement in for Bent, with two weeks of the transfer window still open?

And its for that very reason that Quinn himself will be taking responsibility and sorting it
 
Quinny certainly must take his share of the blame for allowing Bruce to make the case for letting a goal machine leave a club that cant score goals without him and not even bother to replace him.
Bruce has acted with a large slice of thick-as-a-geordie-twatitis and Quinny stood by and let him.

Lamentable on both parts but Bruce should be sacked for that decision alone and Quinn is too ****ing soft to do it.

Maybe its time for some 'bigger' changes to the clubs structure IMO.
 
If as Bruce says, they knew in the summer DB wanted out (and the question as too why isn't been addressed either), then why was the look of shock on Bruce and Quinn's face in January so false?

It was a bloody shock to me but it wasnt to the club. They know what was developing so one of 3 questions should be raised by fans.

1) If you knew the situation, why wasnt adequate replacements lined up?

2) If you didn't know it could happen in Jan, then gross incompetence prevails as both NQ and SB admitted a transfer request in the Summer

3) The reason the club were shocked is because the relationship between SB ans DB was all personal and over the DB shagging Ms Bruce affair. Bruce brought this to a head and gave the club an ultimatum. Back me or Bent. The club chose Bruce. The rest is history.
 
SNQ and SB work hand in hand on player recruitment. We have all witnessed some of the poor signings that have arrived at our club in the last twelve months to allegedly 'add quality' to our squad. Angeleri, Riveros and Muntari are all proven international players who have been very poor when called upon and to be quite honest, all three have been put to shame by the emergence of Jack Colback this season.

SNQ was also directly responsible for allowing Darren Bent to leave without a suitable replacement in place. He admitted this in a TV interview back in January, that he negotiated the deal with Villa for Bent and went on to say that he was not prepared to sanction the signing of a replacement for Bent in the January window, because you always have to pay over the odds at that time of the season. Fair enough, you would think, but it was a massive gamble by both SNQ and SB to go with what we had and as we all know, it backfired spectacularly.

So in my eyes, yes, SNQ has to share some of the blame for our decline this season.

It was false economy. I'm sure that you and others will agree with me that a 7th place finish to the season was achievable, given our form at the time of Bents departure. The difference between 7th and 13th place, which is where we now find ourselves is £4.8m (£800k per position in the league), that's a lot of money! I know we were not looking for the direct replacement for Bent back in January, but there were strikers that we could have signed back then for say £1m more than you would pay in the summer, leaving the club still in pocket with a better league position at the end of the season.
 
7th was defiantly achievable and will be again next season with the squad we have and few tidy additions over the summer.
No one could have foreseen the injury burden we have had to carry this term. We can't yet afford to have a like for like replacement in every position like the Man U's of the world and have suffered terribly.
If it turns out that Bruce is at fault with his training regime then yes. He should be judged. If it turns out that it's just bloody bad luck then I can't see how anyone at the club can be blamed for our poor run. Including Bruce.
 
Quinn has been great for our club, there is no denying that fact, but he is not infallable either.

For me he has made 2 gambles that have "just" paid off.

No replacement for Bent

We bought ses in January, we got Muntari in on loan, yes its hindsight but why get Muntari in when we could have done with a striker on loan, which to me was more important at the time.

Bruce even says they were looking at somebody but they didnt think the finances were right for the deal, which to me lies in Quinns and Shorts area, not Bruces, but Bruce said it collectively they were to blame for that, not just Quinn and Short.

Saying Quinn should go is wrong imo, but making him out like he is infallable and not to blame at all is also wrong, he is only human and humans make blunders.
