An eight game winless run, but still unbeaten in six league games. Who'd have thought coming into the year that we'd be among the foremost draw artists in the PL?

We're also a last-gasp wonder-strike from being closer to the top ten than the relegation zone; while points are the most important element, obviously, they aren't necessarily the only reflection on one's quality of play. We've been good, win against Villa or no.

Did you know the manager was sacked? Just asking :emoticon-0100-smile Maybe someone thinks more can be got from what we have. For the record, I would like us to make one or two more signings.

I don't mind not spending this week as long as we guarantee survival before the final game of the season.

Gives us a platform to improve over the Summer and mount a charge for a top-half finish next year.

Cortese mentioned that he wanted the youngsters brought through. We've tried for class players without getting them (apart from Forren). He may very well accept Poch's view that the team are good enough for now. He may want better than survival in the future, but I suspect for this season that will do, then Poch will have a plan for summer purchases.

Even the big boys are e never happy with the amount of cover they have, Man U had to play Carrick at CB because of injuries and they have 4 CBs that would breeze into our side

We do have a bid or two in. However, the problem we face is the selling club has not 'listed' the player and doesn't really want to sell.

Yes ish. If we had more cup games and two of our 3 out and out strikers were injured I would expect the kids to get game time. If we sign another striker next season and continue with one up top then it will be a replacement for one of our current 3 and I couldn't see jrod being happy as a 3rd choice striker.

Don't know any specifics, just told that we have bids in but the selling club(s) are taking their time.

I get the feeling one of them is Tom Ince.

Have been reading this thread with as much frustration as most of you contributors for the last 4 weeks!

Personally, I feel that there's a lot of naivety with thinking our squad is strong enough and there's no plans to bring new faces in before the deadline. Our bench has been very short of quality and injuries will no doubt play as bigger part in the coming months, as they are now with Fonte and Llalana. All very well having impact players on the bench like Ramirez and Lambert but would be nice to have similar quality from the start.

All clubs have to be looking to bring in players to improve both the squad and the first 11 but it will always come down to price, ignoring QPR. The impression seems to have gone from MP scouting Italy and Spain for 2 months to bring us a few gems to accepting what we've got as we might or might not of lost out on one target. I hope the truth is somewhere in the middle!

I'd be pretty pleased if it's Ince. But maybe that's just hopeful thinking.

I'll just stick to what I know, and all that is, is that Cortese has made bids for others but it comes down to persuading the club to sell to us.

Oh god, I've convinced myself we're signing Tom Ince now! Why do I look on here! Well it makes perfect sense. Appleton leaves Blackpool 'cos he knows he's gonna lose his best player on deadline day to the 'scummers' !

I'd be quite happy with Ince or Redmond.

Is Redmond predominantly a wide player too?

Can play on either side, seems pretty good with either foot. Exceedingly fast, good delivery from corners as well from the few times I've seen him. Has the 'needs to improve end product' tag that makes or breaks so many wingers, but if he can be had on the cheap, it's well worth the gamble.
