Not a good time to say I told you so,but yesterday he had a chance to back up all the claims on this and other forums that hes one of the greatest midfielders ever to play the game.Unfortunately for us he is not and never has been.On yesterdays performance he wouldnt get in a league 1 side.

Agree. He looked very, very nervous yesterday.

Short on confidence, needs to be led by others around him, but in the absence of any leaders on the pitch, he looked lost and out of touch.

Harry doesn't rate him - and prior to yesterday there was a feeling that this might have been unwarranted - as the man himself opined - the opportunity to change this view was sadly passed up by Faurlin, and several others.

OTT. Why do so many on this board only ever speak about "greatest ever" to "not good enough for League1"? Poor performance but as Sku has said short on confidence (not surprising in the circumstances) and playing in the absence of leaders on the pitch. Add to that the long-term psychological and physical effects of his injury sustained in the match against MK Dons last year. Sadly, it is possible that he will never reach the levels he regularly performed at before his injury and indeed it may mean that he will have to leave. If so, remember the good times and be thankful for those. Don't kick him while he is down. With fans like you it's a wonder any of our players ever want to play for us again.

Faurlin has never looked anywhere near the player he was before his injury, he was the conduit from defence to attack in Warnock's team with himself, Derry or defenders often winning the ball and he was the 'release' from the back with often simple passes always finding their man. That just doesn't happen at present and his absence from the team is clearly affecting his confidence.

If they had the money I wouldn't be surprised to see Leeds come in for him this week, Warnock always said the key to our promotion winning side was to build the team around him...

Everyone is looking at who we are getting in (only four days left), but it strikes me that it is more worrying that we haven't got rid of anyone. What we saw yesterday was that we have a lot of players that are just not good enough. Many of them on massive wages. I am worried that we are getting stuck with a lot of pony.

4 days left to get rid of 4 players and bring in 2 quality prem players!....No chance. We should have gone for the best NPC players and at least be half prepared if we go down

Let's face it, would you buy any of our underperforming mercenaries? We will be done for if we go down with this lot, League One beckons...

Unfortunately, Sooper, you are right. We must stay up! Perhaps getting beat yesterday was a good thing? (Sorry to those of you that were there, I know this comment is tough to take)

I remember many many many QPR fans saying Les Ferdinand was not good enough then he went out on loan ,came back and the rest is history.
Agree though Ali is at a low point but then we are bottom/hes been out and things have not gone well. he just needs a bit of luck because he is not a bad player.

As I said on another thread yesterday, it's better we found out yesterday rather than in a league match, but it confirms half our squad are worse than useless...

I wasn't referring to Ali as one of the players to get rid of. I think he still has a future with us. In the EPL or Championship. Ferdy, Granero, DJ (although I like him), Green and possibly Park should be offloaded.

That Championship team was built around Adel, Warnock said so himself on many occasions and it was plain to see?!

Warnock said when he first came to QPR he saw Faurlin and the skill he had and knew then he would be the player that would be key in bringing our midfield together, Adel was the icing on the cake. Remember, the best teams are built from the back and that stability gives the 'mavericks' a platform to exhibit their skills..

He's a quality player. His current form is poor but he deserves a lot of leeway from the fans unlike Park, Ferdinand etc etc imo.

He certainly deserves some leeway following such an awful injury. Some players never return the same after an injury like that and I hope and prey that Faurlin isn't one of them. I have been one of his biggest cheerleaders, having many a heated debate with Brix in the process. The jury is out, but it's fair to say that Brix may have been onto something.
Faurlin's lack of pace has always been a problem, but he seems a yard slower still since his return. This is probably down to match fitness as he hasn't been playing too regularly.
Either way, as said above, he deserves our backing and patience, unlike the likes of Bosingwa.

Thanks for that Col. Very magnanimous.

Whilst I've long doubted Ale's ability in the context of the very best DMs, I'd never question his integrity or appreciation / loyalty to the club or pride in the shirt. Still a great Ranger if somewhat lacking these days.

Fans like me ,lol, what does that mean ,not everybody on here happens to think faurlin is the player you obviously thinks he is.??? once again on this forum an idiotic response to a subject thats always caused heated debate. Is that any reason to call into question my own personal belief/support of which you personally know nothing.

I know you will be able to find the posts where I have ever laid claim to Faurlin being the 'greatest ever' as opposed to being better than some who were being selected ahead of him. Your original post amounted to an "I told you so." Never a good way to make your point. Ruislip, it seems that many agree with me. I don't normally try to be offensive. But if you can't take it, don't dish it out. Just man up. I didn't doubt your personal belief/support or commitment to the cause. I just doubt the benefit of such a destructive way of showing your support.
