Exactly this

He is however actually Scottish born but chooses to play for Ireland.
He's a good player Billy and would improve us no end over Mcclean.
That's total ****e Cest, nowt to do with where he comes from, it's to do with him being ****e.
Just to put you right there marra,.
Agree, he is a mile better than Jimmy Mack like.
I do rate McGeady and he is 10 times the player Mcclean is.
Well, it will come as no surprise but I disagree with the majority here.
I do rate McGeady and he is 10 times the player Mcclean is. We were linked in the summer and although I can't see where we are linked, it wouldn't be a surprise either.
We need better competition for places and he fits that bill. Sessegnon has no competition currently.
I don't think a loan deal with a permanent £7m or £8m deal is out of the ball park if it were true as if has 2 years still on his contract. They will want a good portion of the £9.5m they paid.
26 year old international with champions league experience and development. He's in his peak now and if he wants to come home, Mon knows him well.
Good signing for me.
I disagree with you on this cest, having watched a lot of Ireland's games I doubt there are many that would agree with this. McGeady is one of the most frustrating players you will ever see with NO end product.

I agree with the above.
Surely we don't need anymore wingers?? Johnson on the left (where e has played best for us), Sess on the right. McClean Back up for Johnson, Larsson back up for Sess job done.
Buy a decent non mag affiliated striker and were all happy.
I dont think McCLean is a back up for anyone though? I'd dooner have Johnson, Larsson, Sessegnon and McGeady fighting for places personally.
Charlie Austin is the lad for me at Burnley. He is a fantastic prospect and would be hungry for success. Get a £6m or £7m bid in now and loan them Wickham for the rest of the season as a sweetner.
He had a stinker at the euros.
As someone above says, being better than jimmy mac is not the yardstick to assess an £8m purchase
No, sorry, the lad isn't very good.
He's not BAD but it would be an outrageous waste of money, he has no end product.
Dead against this one.
There is not a chance we will pay 10million for the lad. his contract is up at the end of the season so if we are in for him which i doubt we are it will be a hell of a lot lower fee.
Well to be fair Billy, you Do have some previous when it comes to Ireland.
Didn't mean to offend mind, so apologies for that.
He is a canny footballer imo and like Fletcher before if signed, I just think that because if isn't a superstar name, people are saying if Is crap.
But just as with Fletcher, McGeady is an under rated but good football player who imo, again like Fletcher, would be an excellent signing for us.
.I remember a lot of lads on here (yourself excluded) said that Fletcher too was an outrageous waste of money. I don't see those kinds of posts now?
I think McGeady would be an excellent signing for us and offer us another option we don't have currently and he is exactly the kind of signing MoN makes at clubs that pay dividends for him.
With respect Cest, you simply cannot compare Fletch and this kid.
I watch hours and hours of football a week from all over the world, and in Fletch you saw a player who always, always showed something, a player that in weak teams still looked capable of creating for himself, foraging, scoring.
In McGeady, you have a player who has spent his entire career flattering to deceive in teams that have been perenially at the top of their league, surrounded by some of the best players in the league.
You say he's played CL, he has, but he's made little impact, and any Ireland fan will tell you he has rarely, if ever performed at international level.
He simply isn't good enough, nor consistent enough, for a team that needs players who are on it to push on to the often mentioned 'next level'.
I'd have Seb, Sess, AJ, maybe even Gardner down a channel ahead of the lad, so where is the game spunking £8million and minimum 40k a week wages?
He offers nothing we don't have within a squad that needs improvement, and that says it all.
Not for us mate.
