Nah man, oldest of 3, younger bro (3 years) and Sis ( 8 years). I coach full-time and the kids who you have the most disciplinary problems with are the only child kids. always.
Your brother is 3 years old and your sister is 8? How old are you?!

Used to always having their own way, never having to share etc![]()
Bit of stereotyping going on here, guys.
(And I'm not an only child, btw.)

Majority of it is true with regards to only children ( at least the ones I have come across in coaching), as with anything there are always exceptions, depends a lot on the parents though.
We all speak as we find, of course. I just think it's a bit of an unfair generalization.

FFS...that's a fu<king heat wave here!!!
It is really cold, snow coming in too.As Gerrez said, just my experiences but I do know good kids who are only children, but their parents are spot on with not giving in to all of the wants.

How old did you say you were again?

As I was an only child, I'll put a different perspective on it for you. It's not the kids themselves. Well before they came across you they had already learnt to join in with others. They therefore learn their socialisation skills 'on the street' so to speak.
However, if lone children do have parents who always give-in THEN you have a problem on your hands. Blame the parents - not the kids!

Hang on, you meant 8 years younger right?

haha indeed and I am 28............

Agreed Dave. Kids are sponges, monkey see-monkey do, etc. A lot of the problem ones I deal with the parents ( fresh prince pun) just don't understand why he is trouble, he is this that at home, etc.
I think without the street culture in recent generations it may have got worse due to video games, phones, computers, etc instead of going out to the street to see friends.
Still, parents is that key word. Psychology 101 for the night it seems!![]()
Having one means you end up with a spoilt brat![]()
