Been a few years since I was last in there. My sister used to drink there and told me that it had shut down at one time, due to all the trouble and drug problems. Am I right, or am I thinking of somewhere else?

No ~ you're right mate. It's called the Eden bar. Never venture down the town these days, it's too rough! I'm an Oaklands man myself, but grew up in the Black Bull.
The Black Bull, Norseman, Hearts of Oak,Moorcock, Central Club, Catholic Club,Gamecock. Not sure now if The Hearts of Oak is right?

Good memory there Syd. Hearts of Oak is right. You've only missed The Argus Butterfly (probably Dorsets local) The Labour club and the Royal Arms out. And the George. You're a bit of a nomad mate. I'd heard the rumours that you'd been around a bit.........
How could I forget the butterfly? I worked at DJB for around 6 years in its early days before changing career path
