When the missus was training our young toddler (OK, a few years ago) to stop wearing nappies, she taught him to say, "I want to whisper," so as not to offend any visitors! Trouble is, she didn't tell me about it, so when he woke me in the middle of the night, saying, "I want to whisper," I told him to whisper in my ear!
Damn good job he didn't want to shout!
