And why not? He runs around like a headless chicken when he plays. He has a very small footballing brain.
Basically because those others were worse as those watching between 2005 and 2009 will concur. We've had some dreadful players.
I always thought Licka was a good player, and he's very much proved it since leaving us. We missed out on a very talented winger there.
Jermaine Wright was decent enough, can't believe he's got so many mentions. But it's to be expected as the boo boys scapegoated him at the time for the team playing like ****e. He used to play various positions for us. I think he was definitely best as a defensive minded midfielder but he used to be used as a CM, CDM, RB , LB or CB . You didn't know where he was going to be playing from one game to the next at one point. I think he did an ok job. There were so many worse players than him. There weren't better options on the bench than him for those positions at the time which says it all really. Steve De Ridder isn't even close either . Bringing him into the debate is ridiculous as well to me. The actual worst players we didn't see much of at all as they couldn't get in the team. Or only played a handful of games. There's too many of those type for me to single one person out
I think the most heartening thing about this thread is that with the exception of N'guessan, Otsemobor, and De Ridder (to which I would tentatively add Johnno Forte), all the players mentioned so far were bought before 2009 and most were long gone by the time of the takeover. We have a lot to thank Alan Pardew and Nigel Adkins (and Nicola Cortese) for.
Outside of that loan spell he had at the start of his tenure with us, Marek Saganowski was pretty woeful...
Nothing wrong with him in this game.
I did say outside of the loan spell where he got 10 goals in 13 games. What was it, 2 in 30 the next season?
I can't remember really. He seemed to lose the will a little bit after we lost in the playoffs and started our decline. There's no doubt he was a great finisher, but he lost his place to players who wanted it more.
Cedric Baseya? Patrick Colleter? Kamil Kosowski? Peter Madsen? Personally don't remember much of these, but the ones that do Rory Delap 132 apps 5 goals (4 mil) , Yoann Folly....
No that sounds right. He scored something like 2 goals in the entire season after he made his loan permanent. Then after he came back from his loan speall in Denmark, he scored 6 in 19 games. Those 6 were scored in his first 7 games back but then he did **** all after. Then after a couple of games with us in League One, he went to Greece, and then back to Poland.
Yeah I just looked it up. He scored one on the opening day, one in another game, then one against Sheffield United.
