Oh yeah I forgot that NUFC was a registered charity – and I genuinely thought Mike Ashley would right off the club's debt out of the goodness of his heart.

He has no emotive interest in NUFC, he wants to run the club as a sustainable business. I sense you don't like that, but it's the truth.

He does not support Newcastle as a football team and nor does he crave any success beyond that which is required to sustain his investment. We have NEVER been mislead or lied to regarding those intentions, they are very brazen about it.

But if anyone seriously believes that a successful guy like Mike Ashley would buy a football club in the belief that vast profit could be made OR to ruin it 'for ****s and giggles' is frankly only deluding themselves...

You are missing my point yet again seahorse!!! all I'm saying is that I dont care about football as a business I just like watching good football!!!!!!! The day footabll became so business orientated was a bad thing and now football fans are even talking about good business as if it's a day at work. I don't have any interest in it all and I dont care in he slightest about it. Right now the football is **** and the clubs fans are still paying the same money and getting nothing for it.

No I'm not. Consider this for a split second... you might find our view is ultimately the same.

Those were the facts of the football club we are forced to support today, right? Like it or lump it. Football became ALL about business a long time ago, that's not a charge you can lay at Ashley. In fact it's precisely why he deserves a modicum of credit for running the club in a sustainable way.

Would I rather read the club accounts than watch scintillating football?... NO.

The bigger point is you CAN have a sustainable club that performs in an entertaining and successful way on the pitch. It's actually all the more sweeter for it!

Not for me seahorse I have no interest in the financial side of football and refuse to let it influence me at all.

You might find that bizarre but it's the way I am!

Well no it's not bizarre at all, I said the same thing.

You only need to be interested enough to be comfortable that the club isn't about to go bust I suppose.

The business that puts the football on our pitch needs to be sustained that's the extent of it...

I'm a strange guy but I know what your saying mate.

Well I understand you're hacked off with NUFC – you won't be the only one and I'm not doing cartwheels.

But it'll be alright. The transfer window isn't closed yet and once we get players back and a bit of confidence going we'll start seeing them play again! :D

Seriously he's making mugs out of you all. He'll be selling S Taylor, Cabaye and Ben Arfa next. Krul has got me loads of FPL points this season, will have to find another keeper.

That won't sell very well... Ask my girlfriend and she'll tell you I've got very limited when it comes to capacity <ok>

And on the last part, you've got to be joking... We've kept about two clean sheets, if you don't have Cech, Hart, Begovic etc in you're as mentally deficient as your poor attempt at wumming suggests!

Just out of interest, would you like to see us hoy money at this window, win a cup next season then watch the bottom fall out and be liquidated ala Rangers? Or maintain our stay in the premier league without winning anything and finishing between 7-15 for the next 5/6 years?

Or in basic terms would you risk imploding for a chance of glory or play it safe to achieve relative success (in this case the success of being in the top flight)?

I've got over 1,000 points and am 589,527/2,553,210, so not too bad. Have Cabaye and Debuchy in and no one from Sunderland.

You've wasted your 3 newcastle players on Krul (who is your sub?), Cabaye (expensive, just back from injury) and Debuchy (a new player, who I bet is expensive too)?!

Anita is like £4.3 million, plays every game and takes all our set-pieces, so, if we ever score one, he'll get the points... I demand to know who you're sleeping with/related to/both to maintain such a fairly respectable points hall?!

we a very much a selling club but theres not much mike can do about that even if we pay players stupid amounts of money 80k/pw + all the big boys can easily double that, unless we start making a regular appearance in europe and champions league we will NEVER be able to pay players top dollar. problem is you need top players to break the top four or five.

personally i cant see much the owners are doing wrong lately, we have got some right bargains in and we dont pay stupid amounts of money per week. i think its just frustrating as fans to watch players slip between our fingers and go elsewhere because the money is better, and although we could probably pay our players more to make them stay we seem reluctant to negotiate? i think this seems to put some players off, and take it as a personal insult.

our only hope is to sign someone relativly cheap and hope they are a revelation at our club, like ba or cisse. or take a risk with a player whos attitude puts the big boys off, like ben arfa.

I agree with you, I don't the board are doing too bad. The thing is, even if we were prepared to break our wage structure, there's no guarantee we'd get Remy over the QPRs etc... I think we're operating sensibly, and I think it bodes well for our long-term as a club, even if in the short-term we are in a different division. Clubs with the higher attendances always gravitate towards the top even if they're financially mis-managed for years, so I think we'll always be there or thereabouts. I don't know if that's arrogant!

I rate Debuchy and he got 5 points on debut. Cabaye always gets bonus points for some reason. The likes of RVP (captain), Michu, Suarez and Hazard have been getting me the points.
