I meant nil points in the Eurovision sense of total failure DL, but I didn't make a very good go at getting it across, did I? for me. They've now got a rather congested and tricky run, which I'd be delighted to see them balls up completely.
It's okay PNP, clearly the excitement of Super Sunday has got to you They've got a massively tricky run in but this year there is no RVP to bail them out. He was the only reason they beat us at home last season and similarly the only reason (actually, Clattenburg ) United beat us this season as well. Given the Spammers away performance at Sunderland yesterday, it's hard to see them putting in 2 Abject away performances in a row especially in a derby, with players coming back from injury they'd fancy their chances of nicking a point, as for Liverpool given how well they played away to United, Chelsea, Everton and Spurs (Especially 2nd half) there's no reason to suggest they can't go to the Library and win. It will be tight but if I were a Goon I'd be worried, I've seen nothing to suggest this Arsenal team can win 4 or 5 on the spin like last seasons team did - this coming from someone that still backed Arsenal to get top 4 after the 8-2 and before the Spurs 5-2 last season.
That's hardly a valid comparison. Arsenal's new majority shareholders do seem to have taken a more greedily aggressive stance than those that preceded them. Before that, their success was based on shrewd purchases and sales, and some good management by Wenger. A lot of the money they did spend came from sales and from the profits of their success. Chelsea & City, however, are a completely different kettle of fish. You both have incredibly wealthy owners who have used their own private fortunes, and not the club's balance sheet, as a short cut to buy all the success they can afford, as quickly as possible. Like most genuine fans, I was faintly hopeful that the FFP rules would have some teeth and put a stop to the shenanigans of Chelsea, City, PSG, et al. I won't hold my breath.
Just seen the dive by the Southampton guy to get a pen at Villa. Can you imagine the outcry if Bale had done that? Yet even though Bale has never "won" anything by diving (most of which weren't dives, and the last incident involved clear contact) he is chastised whilst others doing far more blatant stuff get away with it. I'd be fuming if I were a Villa fan for sure. Again, the FA could do something based on clear video evidence but they won't because it "undermines" refs - who are actually undermined because (1) they are then seen to make these mistakes so people don't trust their decisions and (2) refuse to give refs backup by way of video evidence which would have been available more or less immediately in this case (none of this "slowing down the game" red herring).
Nigel Adkins said after the game "it wasn't a penalty, there was no contact, but he didn't dive" and he said this with a straight face.
After a great skilful thrashing of Stoke I'd say were bang in form now, so glad we've finally turned a corner The real tests will come when we can show our resolve and come back from behind like we did so often in our Champions League triumph last year, we need to show more character in the tighter games.
I sound like a stuck record, but since the beginning if the season i said the goons are overated, starting to look like i was right!
I know that your first sentence is tongue in cheek District so I won't respond to it. I suppose you all thought that you were back to form after the Saints result but look what happened. Can you really say that you are confident going into matches? I would say that your luck is back and has taken over what little skill that you have. Where are you Dregs?
The results went pretty well for us after dropping points against QPR, eh? Obviously it went better for Chelsea and had we won yesterday we might have preferred City to draw but that was a real get out of jail weekend for us and gives us just enough breathing space concentrate on the performance against United rather than the inevitable bad decisions.
Did you feel the same after your unskillful debacle at home to QPR?...thats makes a very small corner you've turned!...oh well, small things please small minds!
notso, only Chelsea supporters could claim that two own goals and a penalty was a skillful win,NONE of them seem to have discernment.
TMT you spoilsport, you sussed me out In all seriousness I'm not confident against the bottom half teams but always against top half, but that's always been the case whilst supporting Chelsea. Only WBA have beaten us legitimately out of top half teams so it's fair to say we've been let down by our form against the bottom half.
It was tongue in cheek notso, but TMT sussed me out We've had some great wins away from home against Arsenal, you, Stoke, Everton but home games against Fulham, QPR etc have been dismal. Like Spurs, we've found it far easier to play away from home this season with our attacking flair.
exactly and they all blamed Clattenburg when it was the linesmans fault but it happened in a split second and it was hard for him, Ivanovic sending off was stone wall aswell and no way did they out play us on the day.

Apart from Mata, Chelsea looked poor v Utd- and it was no surprise they went on a poor run after that game. They've improved, but their form is patchy at best and for all the money spent on players since the end of last season (£100M?), they are a long way short of being title challengers.
