I don't need to be told to "support him" or "get behind him". I'm not a child. I don't think he is remotely good enough. I never supported Iain Hesford either. Crap keepers cost points, and lost points cost promotion. Just having a Tiger on his shirt doesn't give immunity from criticism.

From BBC website after Reading's win today:

Reading manager Brian McDermott said: "I'm looking forward to watching the last eight minutes of that game! It just sums up the atmosphere around the Madejski Stadium, the crowd really got us back into the game. Once Jimmy scored, they were fantastic."

Players and teams respond to positive support. 'Reserving the right to criticise' rarely has a positive effect.

Doesnt change the fact his distribution slows the game and he often punches out instead of catching

In my job I am subject to scrutiny and performance management. I have to accept criticism if I screw up. Professional sport does not make you immune from criticism if you screw up

First time under pressure in our good run in a weak performance and he went to bits really with both goals not just the first. I usually back players but you can't really this time not that it matters as I don't think he will play for us again bar maybe the cup match

There's some **** written on here. Jako had no chance with the first. A free header from 3 yards. Whole defence at fault for that.

Made two balls ups, one for the disallowed goal. One for the one that stood. Took a terrible ****ing bang, yet people are calling him a coward it was a ****ing dreadful knock.

He made two awful mistakes today, but when you watch it back look at how many saves he made.

The bottle less ****s were all in front of him today. Cowards most of them.

Agreed. When he was really needed he blew it. Not good enough. Replacement urgently needed

You think SB won't tell him the truth about his peformance?

    Ask Amos what's he's like.

Nearly all of us get told when we **** up.

But as supporters, our job is to encourage and get behind the team rather than lambast our own players, in this case one with not even ten games under his belt.

I will never understand the mentality of rubbishing our own players.

RH encourage this with their phone ins inviting angry and disappointed to vent their spleen, some of them have actually seen the game too!

Not in total disagreement but think he should have done better with the first. You say he had no chance but it squirmed in through his legs with no great pace

We knew we needed a keeper and a striker before this match. Now it has become a priority and we are still second in the league.

I accept your point of view but I've been going since 77 and had a pass for the majority of that time. I've seen City at over ninety other grounds. I don't need to be told what being a supporter means, just as I'm sure you don't. We don't have to agree but that doesn't mean you can intimate I'm not a true supporter

    Fair enough.

I'm sure you'll know how **** we have been in many of those seasons, and how negativity breeds low expectations. lack of confidence, bad atmosphere.

Just think other teams fans barrack our lads, pains me to see our own fans also turning on our players.

And this is why we use forums. Vent our spleen etc. Doesn't mean I'll call him in a game as we all know that's counter productive. Unless its Steve Swales

Yes in the ground that makes sense. But on a messageboard people are going to speak their mind and after we lose and play like that people will complain. Anyone not expecting to see that and complaining when they do see it is ****ing out of touch.

Some of you are a complete embarrassment, Jakupovic had been solid until today. He's had a nightmare. It happens, look at Jon Walters for Stoke. Maybe he isn't good enough long term but in his previous appearances he'd done well. His handling went after the first goal and he went to pieces.

And it wasn't Gulasci who went off injured at Boro, it was Mannone.

Gulacsi went off 'injured' at Burnley after an embarrassing pantomime incident where he bumped into Hobbs (for which they were both at fault IMO) they fell over and Martin Paterson just walked onto the loose ball and tapped it in.
