According to La Parisien (via BBC Gossip), Yann M'Vila is available for £8.3m.

Errm, so why aren't we jumping in? He was one of Andre's targets in the summer, but Rennes wanted closer to £20m for him, so surely we should be making a play for him rather than playing transfer chicken?

But playing transfer chicken is what we do. The cars will go over the cliff on midnight of the 31st. Who knows who'll be left high and dry? I'm trying to bill this to myself as getting extra entertainment for nothing, but it's not going so great.

Goal in a friendly from the Korean striker we've been linked with:

do we need him?

do we need him?

Not convinced, myself. Damn good player, but essentially a DM and we don't have one of those on our 'must buy' list. He does have some more creative aspects and has been scribed as box-to-box, but he certainly doesn't find the net that often. So, even at £8m, I am out!!

do we need him?

Four reasons we should consider it:
1.) Andre wanted him in the summer, and we were quoted a much higher price
2.) We're linked with Moussa Sissoko, so we're in the market for a defensive midfielder (albeit Sissoko will be out of contract in the summer)
3.) Andre prefers 4-3-3, so a midfield of Sandro, Dembele and M'Vila is a great platform
4.) To prevent Arsenal signing a player they need

Yes, the fourth option is using Chelsea/City logic for signing players, but 1-3 are reasons we need him.

12/01/2013, 05:49 PM, was the last time Roo surfaced on this thread so we can only assume there is some big, and i mean REAL big news about to happen and him and SOS are sitting, waiting for the right time to reveal...all

edit: or failing that, they have both realised all people ITK are full of BS and have given up

No news? Roo! SoS! ? What's occurring?

Haha, sorry Spurf, I think we've exhausted all the potential transfer news so far. Here's hoping another story arrives soon! <laugh>

Wait what, you're telling me the ITK's are full of BS?! :emoticon-0106-cryin That's like telling a kid Father Christmas doesn't exist!!!

All seriousness I've been away most of the weekend and had **** loads of work to do today :( I will come back stronger with more transfer news (aka bullshit), don't worry guys! <laugh>

can we not make a rumour up and start to spread the word a little? i once tried one with Lukaku last window but it didnt get far.

No its not its hideous, thats your MF 3 is it, so with Bale Lennon and JD as front three, where's the creative CM everyones on about for the last number of weeks? Dembele isn't it, and nor is M'vila. We're no better...ah, but we have messed up another team who actually do need a DM. <confused>

Not sure whether this tongue in cheek or serious? never know with you! :)

I'm thinking 4-2-3-1

With Sandro Dembele in the centre, and a CAM sitting between the striker and our centre mid.

However if we go with 4-3-3- then yes there isn't much place for a CAM (actually there's no place), yet 4-2-3-1 does look to be the more balanced formation.

I'm here! just no news unfortunately. well nothing worth posting anyway.

The only bit I have read today is that Inter want more money for LD. - The legacy of Leandro Damiao. will we ever get him??!!

if this one falls through, who else are we going to get? Negredo is a no go apparently due to the Sevilla/Ramos history.

2 weeks left....

What about Willian? Or has the ****ing about he's currently doing to his present club put people off him?

Spell the swear words OODB otherwise you bypass the filter.<ok>

I think the Ramos saga is a bit over used now by the media, we sold Sevilla Zokora and if I remember rightly, it was a fairly quick negotiation. I'm pretty sure Sevilla have moved on and forgotten that now (or they should've anyway) so if they get the right offer for Negredo, whether it be or us or anyone else, I reckon they'll sell, especially as a few reports claim they're strapped for cash.

Well I've moved to the next stage of JTW (as the acronym shall be from now on) - depression.

Does anyone seriously think Levy will stump up the money for any of the following:

Moutinho
Damiao
Negredo
Willian
Belhanda

????

All of those (apart from probably Belhanda) would be right up to/smash our transfer record.

We might get Sneijder - apparently Sky Bet have suspended betting on him moving to us.

That'd be a good move imo and I think he could give us a couple of good seasons like VdV did. But then again Sneijder's wages are huge so that may put us off.

Other than that - I can see this being a very frustrating month.

It appears that Sky Bet have suspended the betting on him entirely. Suggests to me that they know he's going, but they don't know where.

Oh really? Makes sense - the Galatasaray deadline is approaching isn't it?

I've tried to stop looking on twitter now as it's so full of BS.

Although you do occasionally see a gem or two - here's 1 I saw earlier:

'Breaking news - Spurs agree fee with Moutinho'

He had under 20 followers and then posted this later

'I can't tell you when it'll be announced but it's done'

I was just going between <doh> and <laugh>

Only 17 days to go until `Last Minute Levy` moves into action, a cheeky final hour loan deal would be my guess.

I cannot see how we'll possibly get sneijder.

Willian also appears to be out of the question as shakthar don't need the money.

I think we'll get moutinho eventually, but it's going to be a loan deal for a striker.
