Afternoon. My uncle is a massive Sunderland fan and has got me, my dad and my cousins some tickets to your final home game of the season against Wolves on Saturday. It's a hospitality ticket so I get a nice meal in your ground. Now, i'm going on the Friday and staying the weekend. I was just wondering if you knew any places to get a bite to eat in Sunderland (Chinese, Indian etc.) Thanks. Hoping to see a good game and a win for Sunderland!
At risk of getting lashed off the lads, i'd head to Newcastle for food and entertainment (sorry boys...) Although i had a fantastic steak in Martino's on Seaburn sea front few weeks back
Newcastle is rammed with restaraunts. Sunniside Probably the best area to try in Sunderland, Thai Manor is Lovely. Also there is a new Indian called the Massala lounge on John street, best indan i have had in a while.
There's a canny chippy in Coxhoe (top of the hill just past the lights, on the left). Hope you see a good game mate and welcome to our home.
the best chippy in the northeast. Chinatown in Newcastle, wear your Liverpool shirt and a Alice Band, you will be made welcome
Welcome mate The Pavillian near Lanchester is Brill but a long way to go also The Fat Buddah in Durham if you have a car Durham is a canny night out. Plus you won't get the smell of the river Tyne wafting up your nose
Thai Manor at E24 near the Wearmouth Bridge has got a great reputation although I havn't tried it myself. My favourite Indian Restaurant anywhere in the North east is Cafe Spice which is based on Stocton road just outside of the city centre in Sunderland. Personally I much prefer Sunderland to newcastle for a night out: real north east people and less hastle.
Thanks for the suggestions. I do like the sound of the Thai Manor which I think i'll have a look at. And I do want to try this chippy in Coxhoe as well. Hoping that I can see a good game whilst I'm up there as well.
Durham, great boozers a couple of canny restaurants (zen, thai). Sunderland, enough battle cruisers to get hammered plus good indians. Cafe spice as mentioned earlier & Bengal spice next to the new wetherspoons.
