The repercussions of Rangers being parachuted in would tremendous; whoever they replace in the Prem (probably they would have to sacrifice the championship playoff winners slot) would sue the bollocks off them. Look what West ham had to pay Sheffield united over tevezgate.
So much money in the Prem means so many possible expensive law suits from existing clubs that it will never happen.
 
It will never happen unless they worked their way up from the bottom, they may be a big team but they are nothing in the pyramid, AFC Wimbledon had to work from the bottom up, so why should they get special treatment ?

The rangers isn't even a full member of the SFL. They didn't meet the criteria to join the SFL, they were given special dispensation in that they pay all old rangers' footballing debt and various other things.

They're a brand new club and are lucky to be in the SFL3.

The whole moving to another country is a non starter. There's no precedent for it.

While they still have their fan base, they have a delapidated stadium and fourth tier Scottish football sponsorship.

He's appeasing the braindead fans with this pish.

We point and laugh at him - you should do that too - or just ignore him.

He did say on talksport that he'd be happy starting off in the conference because it would still be a better standard than where they are at the moment.
If they had to work up right through the league it would take them years to get to the Prem and may not even get past the Championship.

At best a lower championship team and at worst a top half league 1 team.

Premier League teams and the top half of the Champonship would muller them no problem. I agree with Tina and we should ignore the plonker

And who should sacrifice their position for Rangers? I was at one time for the scottish sides joining the league, but after some reflection I think not unless they start at the very bottom and work their way up, its taken us almost 30 years to get where we are now, and we have been through the ringer a few times, but we got here on merit! They just want it all on a plate, **** em!
 
sorry to stray off subject but isn't there some kind of link between us and Rangers. I seem to remember a pub (..the Bulders??) around the Vetch which was full of Rangers memorabillia?
 
Why start in the Premiership or the Conference second league? Start where we all started, at the bottom. Play in the nearest league to the Border and work your way up like any team in England or Wales, look at Newport County and Wrexham pushing for a legitimate place, why should Rangers or Celtic get a place over them. Join the bottom of the queue and work your way up if you want to play in the EPL, thats what Swansea and Cardiff did. You have no divine right, prove yourself worthy like the rest of the teams in the English Leagues. Best thing ever for Scottish 3rd division Football, Rangers getting demoted. Normally they get crowds of 150 and the refs blind dog. At least they are getting decent crowds there now whilst Rangers are playing away and some good hard needed cash for those teams. Now here's a thought.
When Rangers get back into the Premiership or whatever you call it there. I think if Rangers or Celtic don't win it, because the rest are crap, lets face it, the loser of the 2 gets relegated to the 3rd division and they have to spend the next 2 years getting back again. Will really help the lower teams again by attracting bigger crowds and revitalizing Scottish Football and therefore it's good thing for the game in Scotland. Just a suggestion. I think it's a great idea.

Better than who? Man C Man U,Chelsea? Swansea? At what level do you put them in. We just beat the Champions of Europe 2-0 away.Who's to say what level they come in and if they want to play Euro football they have more chance of that staying in Scotland where the opposition is easier so why join the EPL. Once they join whats to stop the rest wanting to join at what ever level and claims of discrimination. Ok thats the next step, a UK league, Plymouth Argyle v Inverness Caledonian Thistle, I bet the players and fans would really love that one. Or are they looking to make an exclusive Premiership without demotion that the likes of Swansea City would never have access too which has been mooted. So better than who. when and at what level?

Hmmmm, you know the winner of the Capita One Cup qualifies for Europe? Last I heard, we are favourites to win.

So to answer your question, yes, I and most here can see us in Europe, and we will have had to beat the current European Champions in Chelsea and also former European champions (and current latter stages of the Europa qualifier), Liverpool, both away to get there. Celtic have to beat the likes of Inverness, Dundee and Ross County to get to Europe. I and everyone else, know which route is harder.

It seems your fandom of Swansea has certain limits Musty, your heritage!


Oh, almost forgot, didn't we beat Celtic 2 nil a few months ago?
