Yeah I'm not saying that. I personally think Giroud is a good player, Walcott is a good player, Podolski is a good player, hell even Gervinho is a good player. Whenever we have been successful in the EPL we have had at least one GREAT player up front. (Henry, Berkamp, Wright, RVP..) I've said it many times on here because I truely belive it. If you play an attacking system with a high line (in this day and age) it is ESSENTIAL to have top quality centreforward to be successful. An Arsene Wenger side without a TOP centreforward is like a Italy side without a TOP centreback.

Yeah, He's looking very sharp again. (better every game in fact) I highly doubt he will leave. It's worth a cheeky bid though, maybe he would be tempted?
Wenger on a possible additions to the squad this transfer window: “So far we have not found him. We have no problem in players wanting to join us. I’ll give you my phone for 24 hours! We can afford 90 per cent of them.” ( as quoted by Arsebog) Yes I know he is looking for super super quality only (and then buys Gervinho), but there is another question. It is the 11th of January - and they "have not found him" yet. Isn't it a bit strange??? ( Btw iit is "him", not "them" so we are talking about just one player probably) What all those Arsenal scouts have been doing all those months?? How are they going to find someone if they have not found "him" as yet??? I just can not help imagining Wenger and his team frantically browsing through YouTube clips and old tapes and old scouts reports to find someone of super super quality. The whole situation is a bit baffling. Theo Walcott is bulliyng Wenger demanding to be played in a certain position even though he is far from being convincing there. The guy just does what he pleases - even when employed on the wing he does not bother to defend any more, and poor Sagna is being run to the ground. Sagna ( who to me is one of two truly world class players in Arsenal, the other is Cazorla) who is yet to sign a new contract, I am sure has some questions. Giroud I guess has some questions too and Podolski who is a proven CF, I think, is completely pissed off. We have wingers played as CFs and CFs played on the wing. The whole attacking line is a mess. And I guess Wenger does not want to bring a new striker because then Walcott will refuse to sign. I think Walcott is a big worry because of his ambition, I think the ManCity game will be a cold shower for the guy. He is NOT a central forward and my bet is if he signs he will be eventually relegated back to the wing but this will be a big blow for his fast growing ego. One day Arsene says that he does not judge Walcott on one game. The other day he claims that (re transfers) it is difficult: one game we are brilliant in attack scoring goals for fun ( so we do not need another striker) and the other game we are completely toothless ( so we need one) - so it all looks like Wenger does not really know what he is doing. Some may say that this is all his games aimed at selling clubs, do not listen to the guy and etc etc, but probably , sadly it is much more simple - Arsene is just not sure what to do.. He says the squad is good enough already and well balanced. By "balanced" I guess he means that there are lots of players that he can play in different positions pluggung the holes. The reality is - there is something wrong with this team, and it is not easily identifiable. It is just the result of constant patching. probably Wenger looks at different players and thinks "Will this guy improve THIS team?" Probably not. And probably he is right: most of the players he brings, go down to the team level rather than raise it.
It is inconceivable that he is telling the truth. All managers try to mislead the press (except Harry ) at this time of year and he will know you need at least 2 players to have a chance of top 4.
Well I am starting to get the same bad vibes that led to the end of August's transfer window. Lot's of names being thrown around, nothing concrete etc, which usually means nothing's happening. We need to make signings NOW, not at the end of the month, we have like 6 games coming up alone this month, and even Wenger said 1-2 new players would help with the congestion, so he even realised last week that new players were needed now.
No I think with our current squad we would probably still make it. But if we added another striker and DM I would be ALOT more confident. Its very hard to tell with this team - Our midfield on their day can just blow teams away but our defence leak goals for fun and our forwards are inconsistant.
I personally don't see us making it into the top 4 with this squad, we're far too inconsistent, and I think our current position is an indication of how strong this team is.
Win our game in hand and we're a point from Chelsea in fourth, so this squad can make top four even without reinforcements. That said, I think we do need to add a DM and another striker.
Not if we drop points before that game in hand, ;-). The game in hand is not a set in stone 3 points. We have been far too inconsistent this season thus far, and even winning the game in hand would have us in 5th, which I believe, is an indication of how strong this team is.
I think its pretty close. Chelsea and Tottenham will both have slip ups. AVB has'nt managed a top four spot yet (while Wenger has never managed NOT to finish in there). Chelsea have a good team but also seem quite fragile. But for sure this is our weakest squad of the Wenger era.
Though I agree that those 2 can slip up, the problem is I see us slipping up too, we're far too inconsistent to take advantage of their slip ups.
I worry about the fight in this squad of ours We will need 2 new top top quality players this window Proper Winners would be nice for a change unrelated i know but I have started to HATE Gervinho can he please faark off this window Minor Rant over
Wenger is as always giving mixed messages this window. "You are always under pressure to buy in England and (the belief is) every problem has to be sorted out by buying people," said Wenger. "But you have other ways to sort out the problems inside the club - it is about getting your injured players back, getting everybody focused and motivated. "It is not only in buying players that you sort out problems, especially from people who live in a different country - they come at the end of January and by the time they adapt, the season is over." "If you look at our squad, it is quite complete" (Really???) I'm fairly sure it'll just be Theo. He's not looking - because he hates spending. If we do sign anybody it'll be a last minute job. The more I hear him talk, the more I'm loosing faith in his 'philosophy'.
