Who gives a **** what Barton says?

We all know Remy isn't desperate to come here, but he could be persuaded. If we put in a good offer and offer him 50k a week and show him that we can and will be a top 8 side next season, then he can be persuaded.

Sorry, I shouldn't have commented on something I have so little grasp of (i.e. Twitter. And Joey Barton.)

That said, how did Joey find out? "Hey Loic? Voulez you go to ze Newcastle cloob dans norse of England?"

 

Well, I'm interested in what Barton says because, for all his faults, he isn't known ofr bull****ting.

On the other hand, who knows what sort of bull**** Remy is telling him.

My guess is that Remy has decided he's leaving this window, but is planning to spend the whole window angling for the best possible destiantion and the best possible terms. Which I guess I would do as well.

 

For me, this isn't even the point - we needed another striker before Ba was going, there are quotes from Pardew saying so. He bleats on about needing a striker, then replacements if anyone goes. So now, all of a sudden, we're only in need of one striker again?? I don't buy it. It's getting more and more suspicious. As I said elsewhere, Debuchy was only signed because the offer for Simpson was withdrawn; it's nothing more than a revolving door at the Toon and somehow we still cling to the hope of having the same eleven "purple" players available every week.

 

Completely agree. We will piss about till the end of jan, the club will feed snippets to the press to keep us all anticipating a signing then bang, window shuts and we've got no one in.

I hate how true this is. Until we're proven wrong, I'll always be skeptical about our board's ability to get reinforcements. To be honest, eventually they'll just tell us "we tried, and then they'll go on to talk about the players coming back from injury. Lo and behold, they will all be like NEW SIGNINGS! "

And we'll trudge on with Cisse and Shola(who is absolute ****e as a starter) backing him up, then Gangsta.
Let's just hope Sammy doesn't take the field too much for the next half of the season.

 

OM are going to hold out for the highest bid possible with regards to Remy. Unfortunately, I imagine our board are suggesting derisory amounts. We need re-inforcements drastically, but I don't think it will happen until the end of the window, if at all.
It's a shame because we have some very winnable games coming up.

If a colleague of a player confirms intentions, it's time to give him a time limit to agree or decline, then move on.

Well, your mate could simply tell you who the Twitter account is, then you could post the link. That way, you could put "this guy says Remy is on Tyneside today", which is slightly closer to the horse mouth, though still perilously close to its arsehole.

I think he might well sign if we win today, however lose and I think nobody of that calibre will want to risk it for the sake of a few months. It's not as of we offer silly money so you can understand why we are stuggling to convince players on a footballing basis right now.

 

I'm not getting my hopes up, but a big tweet has done the rounds. Loic Remy apparently posted a tweet saying "why aye man, the toon is the club for me", but it was deleted soon after.

I'm not sure if the Loic Remy account is realy or not, but it has 15k followers, and all his other tweets are French.

Anyone else heard about this?
