On a side note whilst on the subject of Gaston Ramirez, my neighbour's son advises that he has just fitted a tv system in Ramirez's large house in Chilworth. He says that Ramirez speaks very little English and that there were empty champagne & beer bottles lying all over the place. Must have had our Guly around for a quick one before tea !

I believe he's married, but he obviously hasn't brought her with him. Men can drop something or finish a beer and just write it off and ignore it. Good thing women don't do this otherwise we'd all drown in empty bottles.

Have to admire Cortese for sticking to his idea of the type of football that Saints should play, but only time will tell if this is the way to go rather than being pragmatic and buying some experienced but not necessarily exciting PL players. And no, I have no idea who. Things are beginning to turn round in the league, but I am worried that things may change again after our rivals buy in this window. Am beginning to get nervous now, though I may feel better if we actually buy someone.

I'm glad we're not going for the Anton Ferdinands or the SWPs. There's not really a lot of sense in it for a team aspiring for something better than survival. Bloke from Italy aint going to be less committed than a less talented bloke from Sunderland if we buy wisely. Best to just stick to what we're doing.
