He didn't have a nightmare, not aware he was at fault for any goal today. But saying that, he's not convincing and I do wonder what effect he has on the confidence of our back four. Its a tough one for NA in the fact not one of our three keepers has been convincing. Could be wrong but I think NA has decided he's going to stick with Boruc.
He deserves, and should get, a good run. Only then can we make a real judgement. Made some good saves today and is steadily getting better.
I am not a Boruc fan but he wasnt too bad today and i expect the manager to give him a run in the side now. Until the next major howler - then it will be all change again.
I don't imagine the confidence issue is much improved by putting in Davis or Gazza. At least Boruc has the most confidence-inspiring resume.
I don't think anything could knock Boruc's self confidence, I think he enjoys having everyone against him, abit like Robbie Savage.
I feel like the defense is more confident in both Boruc and Davis than Gazzaniga. Partly due to their age and experience. But also in large part because I don't think Gazzaniga asserts himself well. I felt that there were many times when Gazzaniga was in and defenders weren't sure if he was going to come out or not or if he was ready to have the ball played back to him or what he would do with it. You can sort of work around a bad GK because at least you know what he is going to do and you can decide whether or not he can pull it off. But it's harder when the GK doesn't command the defense and is prone to really oddball mistakes on top of that, even if at times Gazzaniga has appeared to have the better reflexes. I think perhaps the non-defenders might be more confident in Gazzaniga because of his longball distribution and ability to waste time and give them a breather. But if the trade-off is defender opinion vs others, the defenders should win. Whenever Saints are up in the second half, I do kind of wish Gazzaniga was playing. Against Stoke especially.
I'd happily see a test introduced like a 'life in the UK test' but for prospective Saints fans. That way we might be able to filter out idiots, well at least from going to matches.
He was woeful today and although Chelsea were excellent. Davis is no worse but Saints need a new keeper without a doubt!
Not an overall bad performance. Can't really say he was at fault on any of the goals and few good saves
Laura tell Artur I thought he looked more composed today, particularly his handling of a few crosses. Only joking I'm not joking about his performance though, I thought he looked more assured today and I especially like his throw-outs. Let's hope he continues to get picked and progresses further.
We need a better keeper, but we aren't getting one. I think Boruc will improve with game time, so time to stop switching around and stick with him.
After a rather nervous start I thought Boruc got better and better. He pulled off three very good saves and his throwing is especially effective. I am now coming to the view that he is the best of the three and that we might just be able to get away without the need to sign a new keeper.
His throwing is more than a "plus point", it's the first line of attack for us. He should almost get an assist for our goal yesterday. Anyone with that sort of vision deserves to be in the team ahead of Kelvin or Paolo, their distribution is awful. And none of the goals yesterday were his fault, so what's the problem?
He's No 1 for me after yesterday. Loved his ball juggling when he spilled the early one, reminded me of the madman Bruce Grobbelar. Did anyone notice that when his name was announced he applauded himself ... quality!
I think if he starts to perform he will become a crowd favorite, kind of player you love when he is in your team, but hate otherwise
