Never heard of him until now, but he is good on FM so that is normally a good clue. He is Italian and he is a central defender, so here's hoping he is as good as past and present Italian defenders.

It sounds like it might be Saints trying to pay less, rather than Cagliari demanding more.

Which means the worst case scenario should Cortese fail in the re-negotiations is that Saints get Astori for 10 million. I'll take that.

Agree, not covinced Butland would help our squad now. Benayoun is now a journeyman.
Astori a good age who has experience in a league where defending is paramount, you would think he could only enhance our squad. Obviously not seen him play but he must have something about him if established Serie A clubs are also interested in signing him.
