I'd agree about Parrett, Bostock and Mason SC, but Byrne's future's probably been more severely damaged by the form of Naughton and Smith, for me.
Livermore looks to be on the way out, whether it be permanently or on loan, but I think Huddlestone's prospects have been harmed more by this move.
Holtby seems to fit Villas-Boas' methods far better than the big man, unfortunately for him.

Fair comment PNP, I agree.

The Goons think Ramsey is better lol.

Now had they signed him like Wenger wanted to, it would have been a different story no doubt.

We played against him when we played Shalke. He's a decent player, good on the ball and tidy with his passing. I have to say though, he's didn't really do anything to make me think he was a particularly special player. Competent and a decent addition to a squad, but not really one to set the world footballing world alight.

<laugh> I wonder if you would feel like that if he had gone to Arsenal instead of Spurs.

you can bet your life,he would be over the moon if they had signed him.Wenger wanted him so he must be pretty good, certainly much better than Ramsey.

Why? Wenger signed Ramsay too, so him liking a player is no recommendation. His instincts have been hit and miss for a while.

Interesting comment from Holtby in one of his interviews:
"At the moment, it says that I will leave Schalke in the summer, but you never know in football."
Sounds like we might be looking to bring him in during this window, to me.

As long as it doesn't mean he won't come :emoticon-0104-surpr

Not really. I think if we'd signed him, our fans would have been saying we'd gone for the cheap option instead of real quality. Wenger said that he had scouts looking at him, not that he wanted to buy him. Perhaps he saw what he needed and decided he wouldn't improve our team? From what I've seen of Holtby, he's decent enough, without being spectacular. I think there's a bit of hype around him because of his English parentage, If he was called Lukas Holtberg, nobody would be batting an eyelid. I still think Ramsey will turn out to be the better player - and then we have Wilshere, Arteta and Cazorla ahead of him, with Eisfeld coming through the ranks. We have no need for another bit part player, we're trying to offload those that we've got.

Yes, but you're as biased as ****, Piskie. <ok>
Most of your fellow Goons would be happy if Ramsey never played for you again, for example.

<laugh> I am, but those who are saying that about Ramsey don't know what they're talking about.

Ramsey is a quality player. He's taken his time to come back after his injury and last season a lot of people forget that he was thrown in at the deep end after we lost Fabregas and Nasri and had had a whole host of new players coming in. Ramsey basically held that midfield together and towards the end of the season he was fatigued and lost form, that's when some of our fans started getting on his back.

I think he's lost a yard of pace since he had his leg shattered, but he could still get it back. What he has started to do well again is play his passing game and tackling back, the last few games he's come on in, he's done well in. I think he'll make a full recovery and go on to be the player we all hoped he would be when we first signed him. I'd rather have him than Holtby, not just because Holtby has signed for Spurs.

Ramsey looks very good for Wales but often plays utterly ****e for Arsenal, for some reason.
Mismanagement, not suited to the style of play that the club uses or something else?

He was played out of position quite often last season, on the left, as an attacking mid.

His position is a CM. When he's played there this season, he's done well.
