You've agreed a deal to sign him in the summer, it'll be subtect to him passing a medical.

Hi guys long time lurker, first time poster.

Great signing especially on the free, classic Levy. Even sweeter considering what wenger said today. Also a few weeks ago, he was (Holtby) saying how arsenals style of play would suit him, and would even consider the scousers.

Which lead me to ask a few questions...

1. How much input do you think freund had on pulling this off?
2. How long have we been in touch with him, considering it seems we have gone below the radar and beaten arsenal?
3. Is he going into the first team immediately, and where would you deploy him?

Cheers!

I don't know much about him tbh, seen his name a few times that's it.

Is he any good? What sort of player is he?

The only thing he could pull off, is himself!

Welcome to not606, Lilywhite. <ok>
He's not signing til the summer, it seems, but Holtby looks a very promising young player and I'd expect him to fight for a place with Dembele or one of the strikers.
Lots of clubs were linked with him, so it looks like a bit of a coup to pick him up. He'll be looking forward to playing against the two Merseysiders.

We played against him when we played Shalke. He's a decent player, good on the ball and tidy with his passing. I have to say though, he's didn't really do anything to make me think he was a particularly special player. Competent and a decent addition to a squad, but not really one to set the world footballing world alight.

stiil young and learning though.

Welcome Lily White, always good to see new posters!

I admit, first thing I thought when this was announced was "Freund". I imagine his presence here must have helped somehow. I can't say I remember very well but didn't Freund coach some of the German national team's youngsters at one point? They could know each other from there which is always a bonus.

I've heard 67k hbic, on a 4 year deal. We'll soon find out I guess.

Welcome aboard Lilly white! :)

Welcome Lily White, always good to see a new poster bringing good news <ok>

I wouldn't be surprised if Levy's plan was to get him to sign a pre-contract and then try to negotiate for a transfer with Schalke, although I can't see them wanting to let him go while they're still in the Champions League. I guess that either Dempsey or Sigurdsson is not expected to still be at the club next season which might be a bit harsh.

It is a pre-contract, he's not joining us until the summer.

He's an attacking Midfielder KH,has played for Germany Under 21's,part English,as his name suggests.

he's the under 21's captain for Germany and has 3 caps for the first team. He's a good player, a creative midfielder. Comes with a good reputation and is well regarded in Germany.

Surely this rules out Moutinho now?

I believe we're still actively pursuing Moutinho. I think what these two new signings does establish, is there is no real future at our club for the likes of Dean Parrett, John Bostock, Ryan Mason, Nathan Byrne and Jake Livermore.
