The journalist who wrote the tuttomercato story has told a Saints fan he expects a formal bid for Astori to be finalised in the next 2-3 days, and he will keep us posted.

Pay more attention to him, watch his movement and everything he brings to the game. Unless, of course, you're the type of person who thinks a player has crap movement if they're not always sprinting.

Not at all i love the players that look lazy Berbatov Tiss Cantona. All i'm saying is he's not been as good as i was led to believe, The likes of lallana and puncheon have for me been more impressive this season. Plus they are also "sutible" to play every game not just the ones that might suit them.

Hasn't Gaston got more goals, and assists than Adam? Punch has scored the same but created less I would imagine?

I think he's had a pretty good start and is now settling well into our style of play. We need to add some more quality in the forward departmenr, as I am still unconvinced by Puncheon on the whole. Next season, should we still be in the PL, we should look for a replacement for JP.

Really? Not from what i've seen him do in a saints shirt. Maybe on paper yes, i don't doubt he's world class but if he got injured for the rest of the season i for one don't think it would harm our survival chances to much. I agree he's a good signing but maybe would of made more sense if we were an established mid table team

I think we would be in trouble if we lost him. He's easily our best player and is the one who can make something happen out of nothing.

The drafting has been collecting interesting Tuttomercatoweb.com rumors about the future of Davide Astori. The 1987 class Cagliari Central may soon leave Sardinia: in Italy the main forcing of Naples. The azzurri have offered 7.5 million euros to the rossoblù, but over the next few days will reach a counteroffer from Southampton: 10 million cash for it in January. The auction started, Astori assesses its future.

I wasn't surprised when a non-Saints supporting friend walked up to me this morning and said "that Ramirez has got some serious quality, problem is he's about 5 seconds ahead of the rest of your players" - he definitely has a point.

Napoli are set to open the bidding for Southampton target Davide Astori.
Saints boss Nigel Adkins knows he must shore up his side's porous defence if they are to beat the drop and has targeted the Cagliari defender.
But the Italy international has also attracted interest in his homeland, with Napoli poised to submit an opening bid of £6million.
That amount falls short of Cagliari's £8m asking price - and Southampton could now be encouraged to launch their own counter-offer for the 25-year-old.

Is it a coincidence that both the Bologna and Cagliari are known as the Rossoblu? And Crystal Palace play in red and blue. And Burnley play in Claret, a combination of red and blue.

I'M ON TO SOMETHING HERE GUYS.

Maybe skill wise he has the most ability but at the moment I think Lallana and Lambert are more important for us than him. If we can get him playing to his maximum then yeh he should be our most important player.

We're gonna be the next Barcelona?

Doesn't explain why we got Yoshida, who played in yellow and black.

Don't forget that we are not just building a side to stay up in the Prem, we want to win stuff too. Players of Ramirez' calibre are essential if we want to be anything more than a mid-table side. And he is still only 22 remember!

You have to remember Ramirez is still settling into a different culture and style of play to what he's used to. Just as he was starting to settle in before he got an injury which kept him out for 4 games, then he had a personal issue so he had to return to Uruguay for a few days, so if we haven't seen the best of him yet then it's hardly surprising.

I would expect to see what he's really made of maybe next season when he can speak a bit of English and has adapted more, but clearly he's already an important player for us who brings a bit of an X-factor to the team, which is especially vital while Lallana remains injured.
