True.

But to other fan of other clubs it doesn't look impressive.

For example, SKD was a rock the final two Championship seasons before our drop to League 1, best player by far.

But fans of other clubs would never believe that unless they watched Sains...

Indeed. Friedel and Robinson to one side, I'd say they're possibly the best of the rest, which just shows you how poor the pool is.

It's very easy for us to say that we need a new keeper, but the club still needs to one of suitable ability. I don't know what potential (realistic!) european keepers are out there abroad, but I think we may have to go down that route if we can't get Robinson. (Friedel wont happen).
 
In other (slightly amusing) news.

Liverpool are set to pay Chelsea £12m for Sturridge, and Chelsea are holding talks with Ba - who they can get in for £7m.

I would look abroad, the keepers in the Prem are either no improvement on what we have got or simply not for sale.
 
Sturridge is worth maybe less than half that fee...

And Ba a hell of a lot more, most probably double.

Simon Peach says that Fulham have set a self imposed deadline of January 3rd to agree a deal for Sinan Bolat. Wonder if he will be on our list of potential keepers. (or Schwarzer??)

Schwarzer is yet another keeper who is past it.
 
There's rumours QPR are after Distin (sorry if this has been mentioned, but I don't have time to trawl 57 pages to check). Now he's getting a run currently in the Everton team, but if he were available, that to me would be a good, solid, experienced person to chase (wage dependent of course).
