25 Premier League points in the bank. 9th position. Capital One Cup Semi Finalists Playing Arsenal in FA Cup. Tres Bien Michael!
A point away from home!!!!! This time last season we only had 3 points away from home this season we have 11,a vast improvement. On wards and upwards.
I know we wont go down this season but it still feels as if we could have done better, The dropping of points at home and the domination against the bottom sides away that we should have won with ease has spoiled our ambition of 3rd or 4th place at the half way point where we could quite easily have been today.....I hope we can still achieve this if we buy the right players in January because we are dropping points unnecessarily when we have played well enough to win the games, to think we have not won in the last 4 games and are in the top half of the table then im a tad disappointed we are not further up the table where we should be....
Listen Dai they parked the bus in front of goal all bloody game, sometimes you just have to give credit to the opposition, they were at home, and new that if they played football, we would have taken them apart, I'm very happy with the way Laudrup is doing things, he's 10 times the manager Rodgers could ever hope to be!.............
Citeh struggled until the last minute to break them down. We didn't manage to catch the break at the end. If Michu had of hit the net instead of the crowd in the first half it would have been different. Reading have nothing to offer but kick and scrap their way to salvation one putrid point at a time.
Agree ... a good first half - and could have been better with a pick up of points here and there. I like the foundation we have for the rest of the season and, hopefully, with no more musical manager chairs next season too.
To be disappointed not being 3rd or 4th at this time is both arrogant and delusional. We haven't really been unlucky in any games and have got exactly what we`ve deserved, its really important that we need to remember where we`ve come from and not to over expect things! Roll on 2013 and staying in the premier league!
vetch stop twisting what i am actually saying will you....the other day everyone was on about us reaching 4th place for a few hours and we should have done it too. Im disappointed that we have not won in any of our last 4 games where there is no excuse other than bad play to lose 2 of them at home. At the beginning of the season i would have been over the moon to think we would be mid table at the half way spot but the fact is we now know we should be higher with all the points we have dropped.....
please log in to view this image .....Good post Vetchfield, no point running before we can walk at this level, I predicted pre season that we would finish between 10th and 7th, and we are looking good for that at the minute, I'm sure Laudrup will eclipse Rodgers!........ PS: Bales on form again, scored 3 against Villa!.............
2 of these games have been against top sides, if it was against relegation strugglers then there would be a slight cause for concern. What 2 games have we lost at home?
As far as avoiding relegation Swansea is on steady course and we shouldn't worry to much about the last 4 games. There were many positives in those games anyway. If one has ambitions of top 6 based on the visible potential this team has then, yes, it is disappointing not to win today or loose to Norwich at home and that is of cause worrying when you're chasing a top 6. So if Dai is chasing a top 6 or top 4 then no win in 4 games is worrying.
I'm with Dai on this. I feel we could have been a lot further up the table at this point. I feel Reading have stolen 4 points of us this season and there have been other games that I know we could have won. When you look at the top of the table - we could have easily been up there in the mix at this point.
To be fair, Laudrup has said from the start that we will be stronger in the second half of the season and I think he is right. The squad are knitting together nicely, we'll strengthen in January and Laudrup himself is getting used to the premier league. So to be honest I'm not too worried about points dropped at this stage, if someone had said at the start of the season that we'd be 9th place with 25 points at the halfway stage, I think we'd have ripped their arm off. The dropped points can be put down to experience and hopefully will be rectified in the second half which is the business end of the season
